"When this ends may we find that we have become more like the people we wanted to be...and may we stay that way — better for each other because of the worst." -Laura Kelly Fanucci
WISE support online

As we finish our sixth week of working remotely, we want to assure you that our 24-hour advocacy and support remains firmly in place.

Our WISE support is available every hour, every day through our 24-hour crisis line. We have also recently added Webchat to our website so that people can safely chat with us online. Webchat can be accessed on our website or by using the direct lin k : rc.chat/wiseuv .

Adapting to remote learning

As schools are closed and education has moved online, our PEP Squad has been busy shifting the WISE prevention curricula online too!

By developing a strong portfolio of virtual lessons, home-based activities, and YouTube videos, the PEP Squad supports Upper Valley teachers, parents, and students in their online learning.

WISE virtual learning opportunities cannot replace the in-classroom prevention program, but it is a start. It helps build a foundation and supports teachers as they search for unique ways to keep students on track.

All virtual curricula is currently on our website for teachers, parents, and students.

Virtual hugs to the River Valley Club and the RVC community
We are in awe of the River Valley Club, Jennifer Karr, and all the amazing people who come together every year to spin in support of WISE.

Sadly, this year's 4-hour spinning extravaganza scheduled to take place on March 21 was cancelled due to the Covid-19 health crisis.

And yet, even without the event, this inspiring group collectively raised over $20,000 for WISE programming. One group carried on and held a "social distancing walk" around Occom Pond to show solidarity with WISE.  It is a true testament to the strength, compassion, and generosity of our own Upper Valley community.

We are so appreciative of each and every one of the many people who help make the Spinathon successful every year - JK as the force of nature behind the event, the incredibly generous business sponsors, the committed spinners who tirelessly raise funds for WISE programming, and the RVC staff and volunteers who manage the event. We are truly humbled by your support. Looking forward to the 2021 RVC Spinathon!
