NORTH TEXAS GIVING DAY
Save the Date for #NTxGivingDay 2020!

The nation's largest online giving event, North Texas Giving Day, will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2020!

Communities Foundation of Texas’ North Texas Giving Day is an 18-hour online giving event designed to empower every person to give back to their community by supporting local nonprofits and causes they care about in one easy-to-use platform.

Three Ways to Support Texas Cares For Children
1) Give (every amount matters!) on September 17 or make an early gift between September 1 - 16.

2) Spread the word! Tell your family, friends and loved ones about Texas Cares For Children and North Texas Giving Day. Don't forget to tag us on social media and #NTxGivingDay if you're posting online!

3) Follow the Miss Texas Organization (Facebook, Instagram) and Texas Cares For Children (Facebook, Instagram) pages to stay up to date on North Texas Giving Day!

MISS TEXAS LEGACY SOCIETY
The Miss Texas Legacy Society was created to honor and connect the numerous young women who have held local or state titles (both Miss and Teen) with the Miss Texas Scholarship Organization and the volunteers who have mentored them along the way.

The three branches of the Legacy Society include 1. former local titleholders, 2. past winners and 3. volunteers of our program. The Legacy Society has three branches, but one purpose: celebrating those have shaped the Miss Texas Scholarship Organization while preserving its history dating back to 1937. We hope to see former titleholders, local directors, family, friends and fans share updates about past competitors, provide photos or videos and recount their favorite memories and funniest stories.

Legacy Society members who update their information (link below) may be spotlighted on social media leading up to the official website launch later this fall. We look forward to this new space for networking and hearing more about our past - during, beyond and since exiting the competition stage!

MISS TEXAS MAGAZINE
The August edition of the Miss Texas Magazine debuts this week! The virtual magazine, featuring Everything Texas, will be highlighted on the Miss Texas website and across all social media channels.

Teens of Harris County, Southlake, Plano, Southeast Texas & South Central Texas

Jessica Larry (Harris County Teen), Laurel Jones (Southlake Teen), Emily Walker (Plano Teen), Lauren Faria (Southeast Texas Teen), and Kimberly Melendez (South Central Texas Teen) started a podcast called Girl Edition. Feel free to submit to Ask GE using the link in the @GirlEditionShow Instagram bio. Don’t forget to tune in on September 1st at 11:30 AM for the next episode of Girl Edition!

Twin Rivers, Madi Franquiz
After the recent Social Media Seminar provided by Miss America's Board, Madi was inspired to unite women across the country with a similar passion as her: mentorship. Together with a group of 30 local title holders and growing, Madi has launched a monthly newsletter called Mentors Across America.

Highlighting mentor stories, initiatives, and partners, the goal of Mentors Across America is simple: to further the mission of the Miss America Organization and provide resources to those who would want to be mentored or become a mentor. Be sure to check it out!
