Important Updates for Fall 2020
Remote Courses for Available for Fall 2020 for Newly Admitted Students
Despite the global challenges caused by COVID-19, UC San Diego is very pleased to offer  remote learning  so that both first-year, undergraduate and graduate non-resident students, can still start their journey as part of the Triton Family and join their cohort in Fall 2020. Even if students cannot be physically on campus, they can still start in the Fall and begin progress toward their degree.

For more information about this exciting remote start option for first year undergraduate and graduate students, please visit ISPO’s Information for  Newly Admitted Fall 2020 Students   page.
Requesting your Form I-20 or DS-2019
Even if you plan to take all of your classes remotely for Summer/Fall 2020 outside the United States,  please be aware that you should still request your I-20 (F-1) or DS-2019 (J-1) documents reflecting a Fall 2020 program start date via the  iPortal   and attempt to book a visa appointment in your home country as soon as they become available. If after attempting to apply for your visa you face delays (due to travel, visa issuance, or other reasons due to the impact of COVID-19), ISPO will provide next steps as new guidance from U.S. Departments of Homeland Security and State are released.
Travel Restrictions Due to COVID-19
The nature of the epidemic is still fluid in the U.S. In addition, travel restrictions due to COVID-19 are still in place and U.S. visa services are still suspended. Even if normal operations resume before Fall, we understand that the application backlog may make it difficult for some students to obtain a visa in time. However, UC San Diego is still working to finalize details about Fall 2020. ISPO continues to carefully monitor the situation and will share any updates with you as soon as possible.

We are here for you!

Know that during this time of uncertainty, ISPO will continue to keep you updated on important developments  as it relates to your arrival at UC San Diego this fall, and we will continue to  keep ISPO advising services open to you all.
More information regarding orientation, housing, and other important pre-arrival information is coming soon! If you have any questions, contact us at   inewstudent@ucsd.edu.
