NATIONAL PRESCRIPTION DRUG TAKE BACK
April 24, 2021 is the Drug Enforcement Administration’s 20th Nationwide prescription drug Take-Back Day. The Swampscott Police Department is a year-round disposal site. However, during the month of April leading up to April 24th, in addition to accepting all solid dosage pharmaceutical products (both human and pet prescribed), people will be able to dispose of liquids in consumer containers. Liquid products, such as cough syrup, should remain sealed in original containers and the depositor should ensure that the cap is tightly sealed to prevent leakage. Intra-venous solutions, injectables and syringes will not be accepted due to potential hazard by blood-borne pathogens. For more information, call 781-595-1111 or email atcdoyle@swampscottpolice.com.
