They were received into membership at the June 28 Zoom meeting with Session, and in a wonderful reflection of the reach of our online services they include members who live outside the Chicagoland area.

Those interested in becoming members of Fourth Church are invited to join us for the next online Inquirers’ Class (which is required for membership) on Sunday, July 19 and Wednesday, July 22. You can register for that two-session class here. For additional information about Fourth Church membership, please contact Joe Morrow.
Eleven new small groups have begun meeting this month, and plans are now underway to launch additional groups in August.

If you would like to connect with five to seven other people in August via Zoom for a time of fellowship, relationship building, and spiritual formation, let us know!

There will be groups discussing a book, others engaging in conversations about race, and others reflecting on faith journeys.

If you are interested in being part of a group or would like to learn more about this opportunity to connect with others, please email Anne Ellis to let her know of your interest.
With a variety of online exercise classes, this week the Center for Life and Learning kicked off its summer session for adults sixty and over.

Classes ranging from Chair Exercise to Tap Dance to Yoga to Range of Motion to Tai Chi are meeting weekly via Zoom during July and August.

You can register here for the CLL Summer Exercise Membership. To learn more about these and other summer opportunities for adults 60 and over, please contact Susan Quaintance.
Today the Fourth Church Jazz Quartet kicked off our summer series of online jazz concerts, which you can enjoy here. Held on Fridays at 12:10 p.m. in July and August, the series continues this coming Friday, July 17 with a performance by percussionist Juan Pastor. The following week, July 24, the concert will feature guitarist Andy Brown.

Our online concerts are streamed at www.bit.ly/fpcprograms, where they are also available to enjoy throughout the week.
You can purchase fresh produce while also supporting the community when you shop at the Farmstand at the Chicago Lights Urban Farm.

The Farmstand is open on Fridays between 1:00 and 5:00 p.m. Guests are required to wear a face covering and practice social distancing while at the Farm (444 W. Chicago Ave.).

All proceeds benefit this program of Chicago Lights, our nonprofit community outreach arm.
Are you looking for healthy ways to cope with the stresses and anxiety, anger and frustration, grief and uncertainty that so many of us are experiencing?

The staff of our Replogle Center for Counseling and Well-Being is available to offer suggestions and support through phone appointments or teletherapy, whether for just a few sessions or on an ongoing basis.

To set up a time to talk or for more information about how the Center can be a resource for you, call the Center at 312.787.2729, ext. 2260.

Our Stephen Ministers are also available to be God’s listening presence during this season when many of us are struggling to sort things out.

If you would like to be in phone contact with one of our Stephen Ministers, who are trained in providing emotional and spiritual care, please leave a confidential message at 312.573.3365.

Additionally, if you would like to talk to a pastor, please call the church (312.787.4570), and your request will be forwarded to someone on the pastoral staff.
The plan approved by the Session of Fourth Church for our life together as a church in the summer of 2020 includes the decision to have livestream-only worship throughout the months of June, July, and August.

Also during that same time period—June through August—the Fourth Church campus will remain closed, and programming will take place online, from Center for Life and Learning exercise classes to VBS to Summer Day to Bible studies and more.

The meeting of essential needs by Fourth Church Meals Ministry and Chicago Lights Social Service Center will continue to be offered outdoors, as it has been since mid-March.
