AS AN

ELITE HUNTER*

Dall Sheep - Alaska

Hangay Argali - Mongolia

BACKGROUND

Wilson Seay Stout is a 6th generation Texan born and raised in Dallas. He has a Master Certified Nursery License from Texas A&M and he operates Dynamic Color Landscapes along with his daughter, Ashley. He has been married to his high school sweetheart, Susan, for 40 years.

Forest Elephant - Cameroon

Abyssinian Greater Kudu - Ethiopia

THE HUNTING JOURNEY

Wilson began hunting as a young boy with his father in west Texas for Whitetail, Dove, and Quail. His first out-of-state big game hunt was to Alaska for Dall Sheep. After taking a 40” ram on that hunt, the race was on! He has now collected 240 species from all six hunting continents and is still going strong. For example, he just returned from his third safaris to Ethiopia and Cameroon, and that increased his total number of African safaris to a whopping 55!

Swayne's Dik Dik - Ethiopia

Bukharan Markhor - Tajikistan

FAVORITE SPECIES/HUNTS

Wilson’s favorites are many, but one of his proudest accomplishments is having collected all 4 species of Sitatunga: East African, Zambezi, Forest, and Sesse Islands. He also has a great collection of the “little guys” (many more than the Tiny Ten) taken over 20 dedicated safaris. And his Bukharan Markhor was especially memorable. His favorite hunts have always been those spent with family and friends, but he also enjoys seeing all the different cultures, and soaking up the hunting experience itself.

Zambezi Sitatunga - Zambia

Sesse Islands Sitatunga

  GIVING BACK

Most important to Wilson is giving back and leaving things better than he found them. He and his family are part of a group that began the Outdoors Tomorrow Foundation that is teaching outdoors education to over 95,000 students a year in 1,085 schools across the United States. He and his family also host kids for their first hunting experiences, as well as donate money to build water wells and schools worldwide. And Wilson is a member of over 20 hunting organizations including being on the board of several.

Grizzly Bear - Alaska

Mid-Asian Ibex - Tajikistan

THE FUTURE

Wilson has won the Outstanding Hunter Achievement Award from Dallas Safari Club, and he is currently being encouraged by several friends to aim for the Weatherby Award and the Conklin Award. But his immediate goal is to hunt the 4 species he needs to achieve the North American 29 as recognized by Grand Slam Club/Ovis.

NEXT MONTH, ANOTHER ELITE HUNTER* WILL BE PROFILED. WE ARE PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THAT OUR SELECTION COMMITTEE IS COMPOSED OF RENOWNED HUNTERS ED YATES, REX BAKER, and
RENEE SNIDER.

*Elite Hunter Profiles is sponsored by Sportsmen on Film, Inc. and can be accessed via www.sportsmenonfilm.com or www.elitehunterprofiles.com. The profile of a new Elite Hunter will be presented monthly, in no particular order, and without consideration of the year of each accomplishment, but the totality of accomplishments must be prolific.
