NEPA is currently partnering with federal and state agencies to ensure small businesses and nonprofits in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania have available resources accessible to them through the coronavirus crisis. This includes help with the U.S. Small Business Administration low-interest federal disaster loan program for working capital to small businesses suffering substantial economic injury as a result of the Coronavirus. In addition, NEPA also has numerous business loan programs that offer low fixed interest rates to businesses in the seven-county region of Northeastern Pennsylvania.

The Visitors Bureau provides their information in over 100,000 Visitors Guides distributed locally and regionally to hotels, businesses, and rest stops along the Northeast Corridor, giving them more exposure than they would be able to get individually.

The NEPA Alliance PTAC would like to inform you about the 2021 Tobyhanna Army Depot Virtual Industry Day! This event offers the Depot’s industry partners the opportunity to learn about Tobyhanna Army Depot’s mission and to facilitate a networking event between the industry partners and the Army Depot. This Industry Day event will also offer information on how your business can work with the Army Depot.

When selling or purchasing goods internationally the most important price is not the “base” selling price but the landed cost. Landed cost is the fully allocated cost (price) to bring the goods to the point of use or resale. This includes many factors which are related to the supply chain and export and import processes. If you do not determine the landed cost before import and continue to monitor it, then the product could be more costly than you realize. Similarly, it is also important to understand that this concept relates to your exports as well. What does your product really cost the buyer, and how will this affect your pricing?

This seminar will provide you with the tools and knowledge to understand, calculate and control your landed cost.

PennDOT and the State Transportation Commission have kicked off the public comment period for the development of the 2023 Twelve Year Program update. The public comment period is an important step in the process to hear from individuals with their comments about multimodal transportation needs, issues and concerns. You can share your priorities and pinpoint transportation needs within your community by taking the online Transportation Survey. The deadline to take the survey is April 14^th. To learn more about the development of the Twelve Year Program or take the survey, visit www.TalkPATransportation.com.  

The NEPA Alliance has partnered with PennDOT to offer the Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) training series in all seven NEPA counties. Due to COVID-19 meeting concerns, LTAP has suspended in-person LTAP classes until further notice.

Instead, LTAP is offering classes virtually through the end of the year. To view the current virtual class listings and register for a class, visit the LTAP website.

LTAP is also offering a series of monthly LTAP Virtual Drop-ins centered on various safety and maintenance topics. These sessions are not virtual classes; they are informal hour-long live sessions focused on networking and sharing information with other municipal roadway personnel.
