SEPTEMBER 25, 2020
Happy Friday St. Louis Families!
It is a good day, and we are so glad you are with us! This week has been filled with instruction, technological glitches we continue to work through, Scantron and HMH Fall assessments, outside play, prayer walks around the campus and so much more. Students are working hard to bring the virtue of charity alive through their actions and words. Everywhere I look I am reminded to be grateful for the blessings—you, your children, and our wonderful teachers and staff are beautiful examples of those blessings.
Scantron and HMH continues next week for our students. This is our final week of Scantron testing but the lower grades will continue to assess into the next two weeks to provide valuable data for the instructional staff. Please read the newsletter carefully as it has many important reminders for our families as well as updates. I hope and pray that all of you have a relaxing weekend filled with family time!
God Bless,
Anne Dyke
Principal

Update on SchoolPass
SchoolPass has experienced some delays in sending out user names and passwords to St. Louis parents. Do NOT attempt to sign in to SchoolPass via Google or try to create your own account. SchoolPass will send the primary parent/guardian in PowerSchool a unique user name and temporary password for your family's profile.
If you do not receive an email from SchoolPass before Monday,

My child's daily wellness check was flagged. What do I do?
|
The health and safety of our school community is critical to our ability to offer in-person instruction for our students and will not be taken lightly. If your child answers "yes" to any of the symptoms on the Daily Wellness Check, please keep them at home. If you send your child to school displaying any of these symptoms, the nurse will contact you to pick them up. When keeping your child home, please follow these steps:
-
Email Mrs. Schymanski ([email protected]) and your child's homeroom teacher to let them know your child will be out sick OR if they are well enough to participate in school, will be doing so virtually.
-
Email the school nurse ([email protected]) to discuss next steps for monitoring your child's symptoms.

Reminder!!
If your child is prescribed a rescue medicine - an inhaler, epipen, or diastat, please bring their medication to school!
All student medicine was sent home in March last year, as it is at the end of every school year. Please contact Mrs. Doherty ([email protected]) if you need help determining which paperwork must be submitted with the medication.
The school will call 911 if your child is having an emergency and do not have the proper medication to treat them.

Virtual Attendance Reminders
Virtual students are expected to check in for daily attendance through their first scheduled Zoom of the day. If a student does not attend the Zoom, they will be marked absent. Just as if your child were attending school in-person, parents are required to notify the teacher and Mrs. Schymanski ([email protected]) of virtual absences or midday appointments that would prevent the student from participating in class during regular school hours. Additionally, if your child is scheduled to be in-person but will be attending virtually, an email must be sent to the teacher and Mrs. Schymanski so that they are not marked absent.

Did you enjoy the hot lunches in September?
|
We'd love to be able to continue to offer them for our students, but we can't until we have a parent volunteer (or two!) to help coordinate these special lunches for the remainder of the school year. Tasks include reaching out to local restaurants to determine lunch options for each month (ideally, 2 restaurants/month) and managing the delivery/pick-up and distribution of the lunches at the school. Parent(s) will work with school staff to communicate and collect advance lunch orders. This position will count toward PTO volunteer hours. If interested, please contact Mrs. Matheis, [email protected].

On Monday's, the weekly assembly will be pre-recorded and shared with all families via email to be viewed at home after morning prayers. Students in school that day will view it in their classrooms.

Mass Schedule & Link
Students will be attending Mass by homeroom both in-person and virtually daily as noted on the school calendar.
Students who are distance learning on the day their class attends Mass should plan to watch the Mass livestreamed through the parish website.
