C is for Cookie!!!
(and Advent Cookie Project!)
The Advent Cookie Project is expanding to include non-homebound IW members! Baking a hassle? Want to have tasty treats on hand for friends and family? Let the talented members of the IW Baking Crew do it for you. You can order 2-dozen assorted homemade holiday coookies for pick-up Sunday, December 12th. Suggested donation is $10-$15 with all proceeds going to benefit The Community Food Cupboard. Not able to pick up? Let us know and an IW elf will deliver to you!

Contact the church office with your order. (244-6065). Order deadline is Sunday, December 5th. Checks may be made payable to "Lutheran Church of the Incarnate Word" with "Advent Cookie Project" noted on the memo line.

Please note that because of the receiving of "goods and/or services," contributions made for this event are not able to be included in 2021 end of year tax statements.

The Crew is now recruiting cookie packers and delivery personnel. No experience necessary! Contact the church office or Lynn Krauss Prince at lkraussprince@gmail.com if you can help. Cooking packing is penciled in for Saturday morning, December 11th at IW. Time TBD.

Jesse Tree Gifts
Advent 2021
Now that we are worshipping again in person, the Jesse Tree is back! As in years' past, you are invited to take a tag from the Jesse Tree and return it with the desired gift. This year's recipients include a Family Promise (formerly RAIHN) family whom we will be sponsoring for the holidays, Mustard Seed Kitchen guests for our Christmas Day meal, and the Community Food Cupboard.

Please return all gifts no later than Wednesday, December 15th.

This year's tags are being made by the Arbogast Family! A special thanks to Alex and Matthew for their artwork!!

Christmas Opportunity
Gifts to our Mustard Seed Guests for the Holidays

Still pondering over what to put on your shopping list as you head out to buy gifts for family and friends? Would you consider a Mustard Seed guest as a member of your social circle?  This year, we will be serving a Mustard Seed meal on December 25th! Our take-out meal bags do have room for a small package!

With your support, we could offer a gift that includes socks and a small toiletry bag including a toothbrush, toothpaste, and a bar of soap. Donations of these items can be left at church or with the church office, identifying that they are for Mustard Seed. Alternatively, give Kim Byers a call and she will arrange to pick up the items at your convenience: 585-978-1077.
