Why is registering new Democrats the best thing you can possibly do?
Do you care that the Trump Court just took away abortion rights from millions of Americans?
Do you care that the Trump Court opened the floodgates to legal concealed weapons nationwide?
Do you care that LGBTQ+ rights are under attack by MAGA Republican governors, legislatures, and the Trump Court?
And do you care about preserving American democracy itself from the MAGA forces behind the January 6th Insurrection and the slow-moving coup still in progress?
We can solve all these problems and more by registering new Democrats who will elect Democrats. The math is simple.
If we can keep our House majority and add two Democratic senators in November, we get rid of the filibuster first. And second, we pass new federal laws re-installing and strengthening abortion rights – commonsense gun safety – LGBTQ+ rights – and voting rights.
And remember, the same new voters we register will vote for Democrats up and down the ballot, including crucial state legislators and county election officials.
DO NOT GIVE UP.
"We can't win" is exactly what the other side wants us to believe. Don't drink that poison!
Just a few of the many concrete signs of hope:
• Recent Senate polls have Fetterman ahead in PA, Cortez Masto ahead in NV, Warnock ahead in GA, and Barnes ahead in WI. This could give us 2 or more new Democrats in the Senate.
• The latest research shows the January 6 hearings are having a staggering effect. 93% of Democrats and 74% of independents believe voters must hold all involved Republicans accountable by voting against them in elections.
The fact is, we are so close. In the giant disasters authored by MAGA Republicans lie the seeds of their destruction. Because pain wakes us up. It is electrifying us into action. Women, young people, people of color – the New American Majority – are rising to meet this challenge. If we activists keep showing up, and helping translate this passion into newly registered Democrats… we will win.

FRIDAY, JULY 15: TEXT ARCADE FOR WISCONSIN!
By now, you've probably heard about our soon-to-be legendary Text Arcades that help raise money for our textbanks. Because we have the contacts, but not the cash, to text all the eligible, likely Dem voters.
So, Text Arcades! A super-fast text bank that costs $25 a ticket where 100% of your ticket price goes to funding this textbank. In fact, we're subsidizing the costs of texting to keep the ticket price reasonable. Plus, we cap attendance to make sure everyone has enough texts to send – so get your ticket before it sells out!
The next Text Arcade is Friday, July 15 at 12p-2p PT / 2-4p CT, and we'll be targeting the key battleground state of Wisconsin. On the slate: the freedoms Roe v. Wade promised have been taken away by right-wing justices on the Trump-packed Supreme Court. They'll discuss strategies for remaining positive and active in the face of political adversity, and the general chaos we face every day. The old-timers in Field Team 6 often reminisce about an in-person Echo Park fundraiser with bands, tacos and beer. The event has achieved legendary status, even though there are whispers it never really happened.
Well, not only did it happen, but it's back! That's right, for the second time ever, come eat tacos, enjoy music and each other's vaxxed visages, clink beers and bid on silent auction items that may make you hungry, or just make you laugh.

VOLUNTEER SHOUTOUT: VICTORIA GUTOWSKI |

This week, we’re rolling out the Red Carpet of ‘Preciation for an incredible volunteer, Victoria Gutowski, who retired to Michigan only to begin her activist career. She expected her golden years to be filled with kayaking, hiking, and biking. But as she puts it, “then 2016, and Donald Trump came calling, and he just won’t leave.”
She came to the activist table with experiences and skills she had no clue would come in handy fighting right wing extremism. For 42 years, she worked in the travel, meetings, and entertainment industry, where she successfully fought to raise awareness regarding the trafficking of women and children and how travel acts as an unwitting enabler of this social scourge.
So Victoria was ready for battle when she landed in the Great Lake State. She’s one of the founding members of Leelanau Indivisible in Michigan, and was also an active leader and liaison of their Swing Left partnership. She began organizing all the northern Michigan Indivisible groups when she learned about two other wonderful activists in Southern Michigan, Michelle Pallas and Paula Martinos-Mantay who were forming SWIM (StateWide Indivisible Michigan).
Although they did not quite flip the statehouse in 2018 due to gerrymandering, three key Democrats – Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, and Attorney General Dana Nessel – did win! And Michigan was on its way to swing state status. Then SWIM worked hard to get Biden elected in 2020.
Victoria is very proud of SWIM’s other major effort to stop GOP gerrymandering. They collected signatures, and the voters approved a Citizens Redistricting Commission. That ensured that Congressional, Michigan House and Michigan Senate districting maps were drawn to help make every voter’s ballot count.
SWIM and Field Team 6 are just two of many groups that she works with. And she’s often up at 3 a.m. because she’s been rolling around an idea in her head and can’t sleep. She says she has way more activist work to do than hours in a day. And when she isn’t on her keyboard social storming, "I can rage knit a pussy hat in no time at all."
Victoria, we salute your drive, your passion, and your leadership. And we need to get that last quote on a t-shirt immediately!

As the midterms loom, there’s no better time to assemble your peeps into a new Field Team 6 chapter, come up with a name for it, and lead them to register Democrats! ("Chapter" sound daunting? Call it a club, a justice league, a brunch bunch. If you and someone else are in it, it works for us! It's like the carpool lane!)
Your chapter can work in-person or virtually. It can draw from a geographic base (e.g. FT6 Five Points Atlanta)... an ethnic group (FT6 Chinese-Americans for Democracy)... or even an alumni pool (FT6 Notre Dame Fighting Democrats). Your community can be tiny at first. As long as you’re engaging and registering people, you’re making a difference!
Field Team 6 makes it easy-peasy to get going. We can help you create a Slack channel to communicate with your chapter members. We have a calendar of events you can join.
