Tools to evaluate the impact of elevated temperatures on material performance.
When testing materials an important factor to consider is environmental influences on performance. Materials often need to be evaluated at temperatures other than ambient to better quantify and predict how they will perform through the production process and, ultimately, for end-use application. The ability to accurately tests a materials property at various temperatures can provide invaluable data for the development team to ensure the final product will meet or exceed quality specifications.

Thwing-Albert offers instruments and accessories to help developers and manufacturers study how their materials perform by testing at elevated temperatures allowing for additional metrics for analysis.
Environmental Chambers
We offer environmental chambers, designed to integrate with our Vantage line of materials testers, to provide you with the means to test at both elevated and sub-zero temperatures. Offering a standard temperature range of -100° to + 600° F (-73° to +315° C), these chambers can be installed on both our single-column and dual-column test frames. The provided slide brackets allow the user to position the chamber outside of the test area when not in use. Custom sizes and temperature ranges available upon request.
Model 2260 with Heated Platen
Our popular Model 2260 Friction/Peel Tester can be optioned with an integrated heated platen to allow for elevated temperature testing up to 350°F (176°C). This platform provides highly accurate and easy to use instrument to measure adhesion and coefficient of friction properties. Coupled with our extensive line of accessories and our MAP-4 Software, this system provides an economical and powerful testing solution in a footprint that minimizes required bench space.
Heated Platen
We offer a stand-alone heated platen designed for use with our line of materials tester but can be easily adapted to most test frames. This is an ideal solution to measure adhesion and COF properties up to 350°F (176°C). Featuring an insulated enclosure and programmable temperature controller, this fixture can be easily installed and removed when not in use.
