Dear Lovejoy Community,
On March 15th, Lovejoy ISD notified all LISD families that face masks would be optional for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year. Trustees voted on May 10th to make face masks optional for all outdoor events/activities, effective immediately. Additionally, LISD declared face masks optional district-wide for all indoor and outdoor events effective May 29th.
Today, Governor Abbott issued an executive order that prohibits public schools from requiring or mandating mask-wearing effective June 4th. Click here to learn more about the executive order.
Lovejoy ISD will ensure district compliance with the new executive order beginning May 29th and will support those within our community who wish to continue wearing masks.
