Better Days Ahead!
Dear Members and Subscribers,

As we mentioned in our last newsletter, the SGS Board is committed to continue adherence to the guidelines set by the State of California, Covid-19 Stay-at-Home order and will not be conducting any in-person classes or activities until California is back open for business.

But that does not mean that we have stopped the music! Read on and make sure you follow the links for some incredible online performances.

Wishing you all well.

For those who are new to SGS, you may wonder what does a BigDOG have to do with the Guitar... Every year, the Sacramento Regional Community Foundation hosts the Big Day Of Giving, encouraging everyone in our community to give (according to their budget, of course) where their heart is to help raise money for local nonprofits.

This year, especially because of the terrible pandemic, there is a lot of need in our community. We encourage you to visit the BDOG page and give to the organizations that touch your heart. We hope that SGS is high on your list. The Big Day of Giving is one of our single most fundraising day of the year and we truly appreciate your support, but understand if your priorities are elsewhere.
Music Everywhere!
The unique circumstances that we are in has sparked creativity in ways that we share the Art of Guitar with others. Below are a couple of featured activities. If you have one to share, send an email to info@sacguitarsociety.org so we can feature it in our next newsletter.
#Monday Musician
Thanks to our newest Board Member, Lisa Pitre , we have launched of social media posts called the #MondayMusician, where we feature the members of the Sacramento Guitar Society Orchestra and give you a little background on how they became involved in SGS ... Check out #MondayMusician on Facebook to read the profiles.
Sean's Music Bunker
Sean O'Cnnor, our Sacramento Community Guitar Orchestra Conductor, has figured out how to keep himself busy while giving others engaging entertainment. He is committed to producing one new video each day during this shutdown. So make sure you check out his bunker every day!

New Fiscal Year Ahead
The Sacramento Guitar Society is still committed to seek ways to contribute to our community in these troubled times. We know that soon we will be together again, and we need to be ready to go. June marks the end of our fiscal year which means it is time to elect new board members.
I am asking each of you to consider if you can take a turn at being on the “crew” for SGS. We are especially in need of someone interested in writing grants; If you have experience, that's great, but if you don't you will be trained by our current grant writer, Lili Williams.

SGS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation for the State of Calif. By law without a board and a president there can be no SGS. Now is the time for action. Contact me, Sandy Strautman, with any questions at  sstrautman@sacguitarsociety.org .  I’ll be happy to discuss or persuade...
