Prepare Now for Onboarding New Trustees

Building a productive and accountable board with the right board culture is one of your important responsibilities as board chair. It is much easier to set expectations and groom trustees to be effective trustees from day one, than manage difficult trustees for years to come. The onboarding of new trustees is a process and consists of more than just the formal 'orientation,' although that is an important component.

So here are two opportunities to help you establish the best onboarding process for new trustees, evaluate your current practice and find ways to improve.

Register for ISCA's upcoming webinar on June 8th Start Strong - Effective Strategies for Onboarding New Trustees with Anne-Marie Balzano, Senior Governance Strategist, Mission & Data.

Download BoardSource's toolkit Getting on Board with Effective Orientation. For a small fee of $30, this 90 page manual addresses:
Why Board Member Orientation is Important
What is Board Member Orientation
What do New Board Members Need to Know About Board Service
Keeping Your Board Engaged through Ongoing Education
