Building a productive and accountable board with the right board culture is one of your important responsibilities as board chair. It is much easier to set expectations and groom trustees to be effective trustees from day one, than manage difficult trustees for years to come. The onboarding of new trustees is a process and consists of more than just the formal 'orientation,' although that is an important component.
