Here's a glimpse into their post-secondary plans. 39 will be heading to a 4-yr college, 10 to a 2-yr college, 2 have been enlisted in the military, 5 opted to trade school and 9 made the decision to go into the workforce.

THE ELEVATE CULTURE
ACCREDITED CLASSES

Senior Awards Night

It was such a pleasure having seniors Ameer Phillips and Sahara Norwood in our Elevate Beyond class. Their outstanding leadership and in the classroom and amongst their peers earned them the Elevate Leadership Award. They were recognized at BHS Senior Awards night and celebrated for their many accomplishments and academic excellence.

MENTORING

Moments of Reflection

Ms. Thompson ended the semester with some of her mentees at the Oglethorpe mall. They spent time reflecting on the highs and lows of the school year, their accomplishments and summer plans. They also discussed some valuable lessons learned about time management and goal-setting for the upcoming year.

COLLEGE & CAREER

Hunter Army Airfield

A visit to the Hunter Army Airfield gave students a chance to speak with an army recruiter about qualifications and different career options in the field. They participated in simulators and were shown some fighter jets. It was a new experience for many of our students.

International Paper Tour

Elevaters were exposed to one of the world’s leading producers of fiber-based packaging and pulp. They were intrigued by the overall process and products that are manufactured right here in Savannah. Some students showed interest in pursuing a career path with International Paper while others were reluctant.

ADVENTURE

SCAD Museum Tour

Thanks to Dr. Walter Evans, our students were invited to tour the Walter & Linda Evans Center for African American Studies at SCAD. They enjoyed

learning about African American art and culture and appreciated the contributions of Dr. Evans along with expanding their historical perspectives. This was a first time experience for all who attended.
