Summer in the White Lake Area
The White Lake Area is lucky enough to see and live all four seasons throughout the year, but there is no denying that our towns come alive a little extra in the summertime.
Students are out for the summer, family vacations take place, new tourists discover the area, and those who call White Lake home for part of the year begin to arrive. It always feels like a new start when summer arrives in the White Lake Area!
Montague, Whitehall, and our surrounding communities that help make up the White Lake Area work hard to make sure no summer day is wasted, rain or shine. The Farmer's Market and Artisan Market in Montague are weekly stops for many. The brand new splash pad in Whitehall has quickly become a favorite spot for kids (and parents!). Many wait all year long for the free summer concert series put on by the Arts Council of White Lake and the summer theatre festival put on by The Playhouse at White Lake to come back each summer. Michigan's Adventure & Double JJ are booming with their waterparks. Lewis Adventure Farm and Zoo & Country Dairy help ensure they have something for the whole family to enjoy. White Lake, Duck Lake, Lake Michigan, and White River are where you'll find swimmers, fishers, boaters, kayakers, and more--especially thanks to all of our boat and kayak rental businesses! And if people aren't on the water, many are on the trails either walking, running, or biking. Hint--our Chamber office has some great trail maps! Not to mention, so many of our great restaurants and breweries have special summer food items, drinks, and outdoor seating.
There really is so much to do in the White Lake Area during the summer months. Our summer may feel short, but it sure is sweet. Click here for more ideas, and read below to see how the White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce wrapped up the spring months and started our summer off!

Looking Back:
Quarter Two Highlights
April-June 2022
On Sunday, April 24, we had amazing volunteers go out into our White Lake Area and bash trash together. Even with the wind and rain, our community showed up ready to help clean up our area. With specific locations in mind, we sent individuals, couples, and teams out with trash bags (donated by Walmart) and they found some unique items. Click here to check out our Facebook album from the event!
In addition to donations from Walmart, Knight Transfer Services donated the can for trash collection, and WaterDog Outfitters offered free kayak or bike rentals for those looking to clean up the waterways or bike path!

On Saturday, May 21, we held our 9th Annual White Lake Community Business Expo! The event went great and having it at the Whitehall VAC (Viking Athletic Center) for the first time helped make it a great success. A huge thank you to all of our sponsors, businesses, volunteers, and community members. We had a great time with pancakes (thank you Montague-Whitehall Rotary Club), giveaways, raffles, and a chance to see our great business community represented! Thank you to our great community for making the return of Feet on the Street such a success on Sunday, June 5! The rain threatened the day, but it ended up clearing up and being absolutely beautiful! Thank you to the City of Whitehall and White Lake Fire Authority for all of their help putting this together, and to all of our food trucks, businesses, and musicians who participated! This turned out to be the perfect kick off to summer in the White Lake Area! (A special thank you to CatchMark Technologies for providing a great space to keep equipment safe for musicians when we were unsure of the weather.) 43rd Annual Arts & Crafts Festival
Our 43rd annual Arts & Crafts Festival, held on June 18 & 19, turned out to be what felt like the perfect weekend event! We loved seeing the community and vendors fill up Goodrich Park on what turned out to be a fantastic Pure Michigan weekend. All of our vendors were great to work with, our entertainment was amazing, the food was delicious, and the activities made it so that all ages could enjoy the festival. A special thank you to our sponsors who help make this event possible:
