NeighborWorks America Launches Campaign Empowering Homeowners and Renters to Combat Housing Scams!

StopHomeScams.org is a national public education campaign designed to help protect consumers
against foreclosure and eviction scams. Launching in response to consumer need, the campaign will help consumers
find trusted help and report illegal activity to authorities. This campaign seeks to empower consumers to take action and protect their home and community from scammers.

Consumers and partners can access www.StopHomeScams.org to find educational resources and tips needed to help recognize and report a housing scam.

A collaborative partnership led by NeighborWorks America, the Stop Home Scams campaign will have information for everyone but will focus on groups that traditionally experience high levels of scam activity, including seniors, Hispanics, and communities of color. According to NeighborWorks 2020 national housing survey, people of color are more likely to struggle with the financial challenges of homeownership.
