FMCSA Issues Waiver to Allow
Third Party CDL Knowledge Testing
Members, today the FMCSA issued a waiver for state licensing agencies to allow third party testers authorized to administer commercial drivers license skills tests to also administer written knowledge tests.
In practice, this will allow CTA members currently enrolled in the employer testing program (ETP) to complete the necessary testing for CDL applicants while DMV offices remain closed.
CTA and the California DMV were instrumental in securing this waiver from the FMCSA and we applaud the agencies for issuing this needed flexibility.
Members currently enrolled in the ETP program will be contacted directly by DMV to notify you of the changes.
