Work on Monte Vista Avenue began in spring 2020 and will last for approximately three years. Daytime and nighttime activity includes preparing the bridge abutment (support structure at the end of a bridge).

  • Central Avenue: In November 2020, a portion of the EB I-10 shoulder over Central Avenue was removed and crews are working to prepare the existing bridge to be widened. Work began in fall 2020 and will last for approximately 18 months.

Crews will be excavating abutments (support structure at the end of a bridge) and installing temporary support structures (shoring) during daytime and nighttime hours. Benson Avenue between 6th Street and I-10 will be closed during daytime hours.

  • Mountain Avenue: In November 2020, crews removed a portion of the EB I-10 shoulder over Mountain Avenue. Daytime and nighttime activities include performing earthwork and grading on the abutment (support structure at the end of a bridge). Work began in fall 2020 and will last for approximately 18 months.

Daytime and nighttime activities include forming the bridge deck and removing temporary supports. Crews will be pouring the deck of the new Sultana Avenue bridge over I-10. This is one of the final steps in completing the bridge. This work is anticipated to occur over two nights (9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.) in late-March. EB and WB I-10 will have lane closures and there may be intermittent full directional closures. More information will be provided.

  • Grove Avenue: A portion of the EB and WB I-10 shoulder over Grove Avenue was removed in December 2020. Crews will continue to prepare the existing bridge for widening. Daytime and nighttime activity includes installing temporary support structures (shoring). Work is expected to be complete in fall 2021.

  • 4th Street: Crews continue to relocate underground utilities at 4th Street and are preparing to build a new wider section of the EB side of the freeway. 4th Street between El Dorado Avenue and Vineyard Avenue is reduced to one lane during daytime hours. 4th Street under I-10 will be closed during nighttime hours. Detour routes will be posted. Daytime and nighttime activities include working on the end of the support structures of the bridge (abutments) and utility relocation. Phase 1 of SB Express Lanes is located in the southwestern portion of San Bernardino County east of Los Angeles County. The project will provide choices on the I-10 freeway between the Los Angeles/San Bernardino County line and I-15. The project includes two express lanes in each direction to offer trip reliability and ease congestion. In addition, lanes to assist drivers getting on and off the freeway (auxiliary lanes) will be constructed in selected locations. West of Haven Avenue, a single new lane will be constructed and combined with the existing HOV lane to provide two express lanes in each direction. The HOV lane will still be available to motorists, but will increase from 2+ to 3+. East of Haven Avenue, two express lanes will be constructed.
