How BPL is helping during COVID-19
During the time the Library is closed, the Bloomingdale Public Library is helping the Village of Bloomingdale Public Works Staff keep up their social distancing. Thanks to smart planning, our building is designed to allow us to lock-off the main library building while providing Village staff 24-hour secure access to the building. The library is providing access to our lower level meeting rooms as an additional work space. As a result you may notice Village of Bloomingdale vehicles in our parking lot. This is just one small way of helping the Village staff that are working hard to provide essential services.

BPL is also using our 3D printer to create parts for face shields. Others will be creating the elastic band and clear plastic face mask to complete the full face shield. They will be donated to AMITA hospitals in the area to support our healthcare workers who are working in the heart of the pandemic. We're here to support them!
How to Contact BPL
While the library is closed, we are monitoring questions and services remotely as best we can. Please contact us via email at bdref@mybpl.org OR via text by texting mybpl to 66746. You can also access both of these options from our website - simply go to mybpl.org, click on "Ask a Librarian", and in the new window, type in your question and check how you'd like a response - via text or email. The option you click will change the box below asking for either your cell phone number to receive a text response or your email address for a response. Then click "Submit" and someone will respond as soon as we can.

We thank you for your patience in this difficult time. Stay safe, and we hope to see you healthy when restrictions are lifted!
The Shelter in Place Order has been particularly hard on small businesses in your community. Business owners have generously supported your community through donations to school's and non-profit's fundraisers for years. They have helped with sponsorships of sport teams, hosted fundraisers and given to the Chamber Scholarship Fund which provides scholarships to local high school students. Now is your time to show them thanks.

Not all businesses are set up to sell gift cards and certificates on their website. We are helping them sell gift cards/certificates through the Chamber site . Purchase a gift card/certificate for a given amount and the business will mail you the gift card/certificate.

Thank you for support of your business community.
