COVID-19 Testing
Clay County Public Health Center is now offering free, drive-thru COVID-19 testing for Clay County residents. Any resident, whether they have symptoms or not, is welcome to request an appointment by filling out the testing questionnaire on our website at
clayhealth.com/test. However, we do have a limited number of tests so not everyone who fills out the questionnaire will be able to be scheduled for an appointment.

Clay County amends stay-home order expiration to May 3
Due in part to consistently low infection rates of COVID-19 in the county, Clay County Public Health Center is rolling back the stay-home order to expire at 11:59 p.m. Sunday, May 3. The order had been extended last week from the end of April to May 15. The rollback means the order will expire two weeks sooner and align with the state.
A plan for phasing out of the current order and into the FIRST PHASE of community recovery and reopening is being developed by local leadership while attempting to be in line with guidance from Governor Parson’s “Show Me Strong” Recovery Plan for the State of Missouri. It is planned for release by the middle of next week. These plans will include detailed guidance for safely and gradually allowing businesses to reopen, events to resume and assist individuals in the reopening of our communities. Please stay tuned to the health center’s website and social media channels for updates and additional information.

Special Shopping Hours
Sam’s Club locations nationwide are offering early shopping hours every Tuesday and Thursday from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. for seniors and those with disabilities or compromised immune systems. This includes the pharmacy and optical centers and will last until further notice.
Concierge “Shop from Your Car” Service
While we hope the special shopping hours are beneficial for select members, we know we can do more to go above and beyond for some of our senior and at-risk members. That’s why we’re also introducing an innovative new concierge service. During special shopping hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., these members can shop Sam’s Club without ever leaving their car. From a designated parking location, members in need can place their order from their car, and a Sam’s Club associate will grab the items on the list.
Hero Hours
Our heroes (Sam’s Club associates) can shop the club early every Sunday from 8 a.m. – 10 a.m. and we’re following the lead of those thoughtful clubs by expanding the audience for this shopping period to include healthcare workers and first responders.
On that note, first responders and healthcare workers will be welcomed chainwide into our clubs for special shopping hours on Sundays from 8 a.m. – 10 a.m. These Hero Hours will kick off Sunday, April 19 and continue until further notice. All shoppers entering clubs will be provided with a mask for safety.

We wanted to take a moment to thank frontline workers who are working tirelessly to keep our community safe and healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic. We at McDonald’s are inspired each day by
the healthcare and first responder heroes.
Beginning Wednesday, April 22 through Tuesday, May 5,
first responders and healthcare workers in the U.S. will be able to receive a FREE “Thank You Meal" day or night, via carry out and drive-thru at participating McDonald’s locations
by showing a work badge.
At breakfast, individuals can choose from: an Egg McMuffin®, Chicken McGriddles® or Bacon, Egg and Cheese Biscuit with any size soft drink, tea or hot coffee and a Hash Brown; and for lunch and dinner: a Double Cheeseburger, 6-Piece McNuggets® or a Filet-O-Fish® with any size soft drink, tea or hot coffee and small fries.
We hope this small token of gratitude offers a simple, feel good moment to our local heroes.

Don't forget! You should have received your invitation to participate in the national Census. This can be completed online between now and the end of April and only takes a few minutes of your time.
It's important for everyone to participate as census data is used to disperse federal funding for schools, hospitals, roads and other programs; to determine our representation in the U.S. House of Representatives and state level government; and businesses use the data to determine where to locate new stores and offices.
Kearney had an 84% response rate in the 2010 census. We'd like to improve on that response rate by having EVERYONE counted in 2020.
Households that don't
respond by the end of April
can expect a visit by Census-takers in the coming months--but its so much easier to respond online or by mail.

New webinar:
More money is coming to federal funding programs. Is your business ready to apply?
Thursday, Congress was expected to pass additional funding for the currently maxed-out Paycheck Protection Program and Economic Injury Disaster Loan funds.
With the variety of loan options available, it is important to understand the differences between the programs and which are best suited to their needs. In this free 18-minute webinar, Missouri Chamber experts Kara Corches and Matt Panik give an update on navigating your funding options and what to consider when applying.

While business relief loan programs including the popular Paycheck Protection Program have run out of federal funding, many organizations are continuing to struggle due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. Many in Congress hope to appropriate additional funding so that more businesses can receive assistance. In the meantime, there are
several steps businesses can take.
