Thank You Dr. Tommy & Patty Green

Just six months ago, AUMC welcomed Tommy and Patty Green to our church. During the ensuing months, Tommy has served as our interim senior pastor. With Patti at his side each Sunday, signifying their shared commitment to this assignment, he has faithfully brought God’s word to our congregation. We are very grateful for the gift of their time and talents, for effectively conveying the Christian’s role in today’s world. We thank them for being such a special part of this important time in our church’s history. We wish them many blessings in the future:

"…May the Lord of peace himself give you his peace at all times and in every situation. The Lord be with you always." —2 Thessalonians 3:16

Please join us in the FLC, after the 11:00 service, as we express our appreciation to the Green’s and wish them well.

Helping Hands Volunteers!

From time to time, we receive requests to provide meals, help with yard work or housecleaning, or provide transportation.

If you can help with any of this, please contact Pastor Angie to be added to the group. You will be contacted when there is a need. There is never an obligation to say yes, we just need people that might be available from time to time.

Stephen Ministers are

"The After People."

Stephen Ministers are there: . . . after the phone call you hoped you’d never get. . . . after the funeral, when everyone has left and the emotions you’ve held at bay come crashing in on you. . . . after the relationship falls apart and the bottom falls out of your life. . . . after the doctor says, “I’m sorry, but there’s nothing more we can do.” . . . after the nursing home director shakes your hand and says, “Welcome to your new home.” . . . after the last child honks the horn, waves, and drives away—and the house suddenly seems empty. . . . after the gavel comes down, the handcuffs go on, and your loved one is led away. . . . after the baby arrives, demanding more of you than you ever dreamed possible. . . . after you find a pink slip with your final paycheck. . . . after your family and friends have heard your story one too many times, but you still need to talk it out.

Stephen Ministers are the After People. They are ready to come alongside you—or your friends, neighbors, coworkers, or relatives—and provide comfort and support for as long after as needed.

If you are someone you love would like to be connected to a Stephen Minister of if you are feeling called to this ministry, contact Pastor Angie.
