RM 620 Open House February 20 
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will hold an Open House and Formal Hearing to discuss improvements to RM 620 south, between SH 71 and Hudson Bend Road in Travis County, Texas. During this public hearing, the public may comment on the Draft Environmental Assessment and the recommended Build Alternative for improving RM 620. The Open House will start at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at the Lake Travis High School Cafeteria located at 3324 Rand Road 620 South. The Formal Hearing will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the same location. Maps, drawings and other project information will be on display beginning at 5:30 p.m., and project team members will be present to answer questions. The Brown Bag Lunch Concert Series features local musicians in a relaxed and casual setting. Bring your own lunch and enjoy the sweet sounds of musical theater Thursdays at noon throughout February at the Activity Center. Big Band Bash happens every second Monday of the month from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m at the Activity Center. Enjoy big band music from the 17-piece Republic of Texas Big Band, featuring David Cummings and Lisa Clark on vocals. The next event is not until March, but you can put it on your calendar now! LMUD Receives Historical Marker
On Wednesday, February 12, the Lakeway Municipal Utility District (LMUD) was honored during a special ceremony with a historical marker from the Lakeway Heritage Committee at the LMUD location on 1097 Lohmans Crossing Road for their 48 years of providing service to residents of Lakeway. Since 1972, LMUD has provided water and wastewater services initially from 300 to now over 10,000 residents and business owners in the Lakeway community. This includes maintenance of extensive water infrastructure, including Lakeway’s iconic golf ball water tower. LMUD is celebrating their 48th anniversary throughout the year with a series of events aimed towards helping the community learn about smart water usage. A full list of LMUD events can be found on their website: www.lakewaymud.org/events.
NEW: Charter Review Public Meeting

A Charter Review Committee Public Meeting will be held on Thursday, March 5 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Lakeway City Hall located at 1102 Lohmans Crossing Rd. The newly formed Charter Review Committee is working over the next few months to bring forth possible revisions of the City Charter to City Council. The committee will be meeting several times over the next few months to complete the work. Please plan to attend this special meeting to learn more about the City Charter, members of the Charter Review Committee and their duties. Comments will also be accepted. NEW: Spring Blood Drive Coming

Spring brings a new chance to donate blood here in Lakeway! The next Lakeway Community Blood Drive will be from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 21 at the Lakeway Activity Center located at 105 Cross Creek. Donors don’t need an appointment, although organizers give prospective donors with appointments priority during the donation process. Walk-ins are always welcome – and are needed to help maintain an ample supply of blood for the region.
