The UEN American Indian Film Festival is screening films to celebrate Native American Heritage Month. This year's films are Moroni for President, screening November 9 at 4 p.m. in Orem, Chasing Voices screening November 11 at 5 p.m. at Weber State University, and Tribal Justice, screening at 5:30 p.m. November 18 at the University of Utah.

United States Distance Learning Association: UETN Video Operations Manager, James Hodges, has been elected to the USDLA Board of Directors. James will bring more than 24 years of experience in the distance learning industry to represent Utah and bring UETN’s expertise in distance learning technologies to USDLA and its member community.

  • Daylight Saving Time Ends: Utahns will set clocks back one hour. After the change, the sun will rise about 7 a.m. and set about 5:30 p.m. November 7.

  • STEM Fest: Utah's STEM Action Center provides resources to improve science, technology, engineering and math education in Utah. This year's STEM Fest is planned for November 8.


  • UCET is holding an Edcamp professional development event at Meadow Brook Elementary in Springdale, registration coming soon. November 13.

Lock your computer when you step away to prevent unauthorized access. Unauthorized use of your computer in a school setting can happen even if you are away from it for only a few minutes, allowing mischief-makers to:
  • Send email from your account.
  • Access, tamper with and delete important files.
  • Access confidential data, including student records.
  • Change grades, scores or other educational data.

Participate in the statewide technology inventory to help identify Utah’s educational technology strengths and needs. UETN surveys Utah educators every couple of years and delivers an annual report to the Utah Legislature. Reread "Changing Classroom in Utah," which highlights how technology has changed the way teachers teach and students learn.
