Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez issued Emergency Order 21-20 allowing for the re-opening of county parks with some restrictions. Boating, waterways and golf courses are also open. New recommendations to open certain non-essential businesses starting May 18th are expected to be announced momentarily. Following the reopening of county park facilities, the Palmetto Bay Council met and decided to keep Village parks closed. The item was to be reconsidered at a later date. Tomorrow night, the Village Council will hold a Virtual Special Council meeting starting at 7 pm to discuss the potential opening of Village parks and non-essential businesses and also to discuss a proposed COVID-19 testing site in Palmetto Bay. Village Hall is closed to the public. However building permits may be dropped off at Village Hall, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm. Visit our website for details.

Palmetto Bay Continues to Extend Emergency Declaration
On Friday, March 13, Palmetto Bay Mayor Karyn Cunningham and Interim Village Manager Greg Truitt declared a State of Emergency for the Village of Palmetto Bay. The declaration, which is valid for 7 days, was extended
for the first time on Friday, March 20th and has been extended each week thereafter. A new extension was signed today. The order ensures all necessary resources will be available if needed to respond to COVID-19 emergencies, including the purchase of necessary supplies.
