SUBSTANTIAL TO SHELTER IN PLACE

The health, safety and welfare of our property owners, residents, employees, visitors and businesses are priority one for Hot Springs Village. We encourage social distancing or sheltering in place to prevent COVID19 from spreading in our community.

Many of our local businesses offer delivery, online ordering, gift certificates and other creative methods to serve their customers while maintaining safe distancing. Please support these businesses.

State of Arkansas
Today, Gov. Asa Hutchinson announced that a two-day surge campaign for testing is underway. He said that not enough people are getting tested in the state and this campaign's goal is to increase testing from 1,000 people per day to 1,500 per day. All people showing even mild symptoms are encouraged to get tested.

This is part of the state's goal to increase testing capacity with four steps. One step is increasing sero-surveillance screening, which finds people who may have had the virus sometime in the past and developed antibodies without major symptoms or were totally asymptomatic.

Hutchinson said that there have been 2,249 COVID-19 cases in Arkansas. Of the active cases, 101 are hospitalized with 24 on ventilators. There are 174 cases among nursing home residents. There have been 45 deaths in Arkansas. Of the total cases in Arkansas, 902 have recovered.

Cases continue to grow among Arkansas prison inmates and staff with 122 cases among inmates in Cummins Unit.
