Caroline Bowler
CEO, BTC Markets Pty Ltd

Caroline Bowler is CEO of BTC Markets, one of the largest Australian digital asset exchanges. BTC Markets has over 325,000 Australian clients, who have traded more than $17.5 billion since 2013. Caroline has worked in Financial Services since 2004, both in Europe and Asia-Pacific. Over her career, Caroline has worked with a variety of financial institutions. These include investment banks, hedge funds, financial technology companies, and financial advisors. This has extended to blockchain and digital asset companies since 2015. Caroline is also a board member of Blockchain Australia, representing the interests of digital currency exchange members.

Kirsten Temple
Manager of Research, JANA

Kirsten Temple is JANA’s Manager of Research and is responsible for JANA’s research programme. In her time at JANA, Kirsten has consulted to a range of industry superannuation and charity clients. She has also contributed to JANA’s research efforts, leading the Responsible Investment team until 2017, and as a senior member of the Global Equities and Alternative Investment Strategies research teams. Prior to joining JANA in 2009, Kirsten held roles in investment management and research for institutional clients River & Mercantile Solutions (UK) and Aon (UK), with a strong focus on global investments and ESG. Kirsten holds a Master of Applied Finance from Macquarie University, a Bachelor of Commerce (Economics) and a Bachelor of Arts (Asian Studies) from the University of New England.

Alicia Vidler
Chair, 100 Women in Finance, Australia

Alicia Vidler has over 20 years of trading and finance experience across the globe. She co-founded the first Australian branch of 100 Women in Finance, in Sydney in 2018, and remains its chairperson locally. Alicia also sits on the 100WIF APAC Advisory Council. Since returning to Australia in 2017, Alicia has been active in the electronic trading markets and Fintech space. She has acted as an advisor to financial institutions in electronic market making and trading, board advisor to several technology-based firms and local venture capital funds. Prior to returning to Australia, she co-founded a London based artificial intelligence (AI) hedge fund, serving as the CIO for over 5 years. Previously a senior director in the Proprietary Trading group at Merrill Lynch, she also held senior roles at Bank of America and RiskMetrics Group in Europe. Alicia began her career at Deutsche Bank in Sydney and has a BSc in Mathematics and Finance. Studying for a PhD in Mathematics at Imperial College London until 2009, focusing on dynamic correlation modelling utilising early forms of A.I. and GPU programming. She has also published research in quantitative and market journals, as well as presenting at numerous industry and academic conferences. She is currently completing her PhD in AI (Engineering) at University of New South Wales, Australia whilst continuing to publish academic and applied research around topics of AI, electronic fixed income markets, game theory and Crypto/DeFi technology.
