8th Grade Fundraiser: Nails, Tails & Tennies
Please support the 8th Grade fundraiser! Students may buy a pass for only $5 to wear nail polish, untucked shirts, and any color tennis shoes! The pass will be valid on Thursday, February 13! Please download the flyer and turn it in to your homeroom teacher or the front office by Thursday, February 13. There must be ONE form per student!
Upcoming Special Dress Days
February 14 (this Friday)- StJPII will observe St. Valentine's Day. Students may wear red or pink shirts with uniform bottoms. Girls in PreK through 2nd grade can wear skorts/skirts and not jumpers.

February 28- StJPII will observe Go Texan Day. Students may wear western-style rodeo attire (please leave your spurs, whips, guns and handcuffs at home). "Go Texan" attire can be as simple as jeans, a t-shirt or western shirt, with boots. Cowboy hats are allowed. If you choose not to dress "Texan", then students may wear a spirit shirt with their uniform bottoms (this is NOT a free dress day). Please follow the general dress code guidelines which are noted in the Student Handbook.
Around StJPII
Thank you to all the Fathers and Daughters who attended our first Father Daughter Dance at StJPII. It was a huge success! Special thanks to the committee members (Tiffany Doucette, Sandy Russell, Hanna Flesch , Tricia Nino, Marcela Osuna, Sarah Takagi, Angelia Molina, Paige Trahan, Ginger Rome and Marcela Gavina) who worked to create such a memorable event. Here are a few of the highlights:

Steps for Students 5K Run/Walk is THIS WEEKEND
There is still time to register for Steps for Students downtown this Saturday, February 15! Thanks to the StJPII saints who have already registered and/or donated! It's easy to sign-up and create your website - just visit steps4students.org and designate StJPII as your school of choice!  Reminder- the last day to register will be this Thursday, February 13 at 7:00 p.m.

Steps for Students Timeline
6:30 a.m.- 7:15 a.m. Sunrise Mass at the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart
8:00 a.m. Race begins
9:00 a.m. Post-race party and awards presentation

The final individual packet pick-ups will be this Thursday and Friday at the St. Dominic Chancery from noon until 7:00 p.m. And, be sure to wear your Run with the Saints t-shirts so we can cheer for you on the race course!
Student incentives:
  • Free Dress for anyone who registers
  • A mini field day for the grade level with the most registrations
  • PE Teacher for the Day for the individual Top Earner

Don't forget to designate StJPII as your school of choice for the funds to be allocated properly. This event is lots of fun and a tremendous community builder for Catholic schools! And, it's a great opportunity to raise money for StJPII and show our Saints pride as well. If you have any questions, please contact the Communications Office.
Save the Date: Engineering Week February 16-28
Mark your calendars! Ms. Resweber is looking for parents or community members who are practicing engineers to present brief talks and activities to her students! She's extended Engineers' Week at our school to TWO weeks so that all of the elementary classes and her three middle school elective classes can have speakers and activities. The dates are February 16 - 28! Click this link to provide a bit of information to Ms. Resweber, and she'll be in touch via email. Box Tops Due By Friday!
Please turn in your Box Tops and digital app screen shots to your homeroom teacher by Friday, February 14.

It's not too late... download the Box Tops for Education digital app and start scanning your grocery receipts.

Some friendly contest reminders:
Have your child bring in those neatly cut out Box Tops and give them to their homeroom teacher. Please make sure the bag or envelope is labeled with your child's name and House or Tuesday shirt color (to assure their House gets credit for the contest).

When submitting Box Tops digital app screen shots please send it in with your youngest child ONLY. ONE screen shot per StJPII Family please. List each child's name and House or Tuesday shirt color and how you want the credit divided. Example: Jane Smith/House of Luke - $3.75 Jack Smith/House of John - $3.75 or Jane Smith/Green - $3.75 Jack Smith/Blue - $3.75

Remember, this Thursday February 13. 4:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m., for the Darr Skate Day at the Dairy Ashford Roller Rink. The party will be Neon Themed, entrance $7 and skate rental $3. Please come out and have some fun!!

Gala Volunteers Needed- Sign Up Today!
The Mardi Gras Masquerade Gala team is looking for volunteers to help on gala night! The 2020 Gala will not be possible without the efforts and tireless work of all the volunteers. Our school volunteers are invaluable to the success of this year's gala. We would like to ask you if you would consider volunteering to help our wonderful school. If you can give an hour of your time while at the gala, it will make all the difference. If you are not attending the gala but can volunteer, we would appreciate your help. You can volunteer for one shift or for the entire night. We cannot do it without you. Thank you for your time and dedication to our school!

WHCSA basketball is in full swing as well, kiddos, coaches and parents are having FUN!!!! Spring sports registration is open so please visit the website and register your child for Baseball/T Ball/Softball and Spring Volleyball as well!

GHCAA Spring sports are all ready to go! All 5 sports are up and running so please be sure to go to the website and look at all of our new athletic teams! The athletic calendar is updated with most of the sports games so come out and support our teams!
