Internal re-structuring

Dear parents and colleagues,

As we all know, we were hoping that the school campus would have been opened for regular classes for the beginning of this semester but unfortunately, this was not permitted. As of today, we still have no official guidance on when we will be able to open and so our plans to offer our DOLP with the campus closed continue.

This ongoing situation requires us to continually monitor the school’s finances and make internal adjustments to our operations accordingly. I now wish to share with you the sad news that we have made further reductions in staff as part of this restructuring.

Until further notice, we are not able to offer Sports training sessions, and local leagues and schools have agreed that until we open there will be no tournaments or inter-school matches. ASOMEX has also cancelled all live sporting events for this entire school year. Under these circumstances, we have taken the decision to restructure our JFK Sports department temporarily while the school remains closed. This has led to the need to reduce the number of coaches employed, and those have been advised. The remaining, reduced size team will now be working on establishing online programs for the school. They will be well placed to restructure and rebuild JFK Sports for us to re-employ our coaches at the right time when we can re-open the school and offer sports once again.

A similar review and re-structuring of the General Services Department has also been undertaken, and we have taken the difficult decision to reduce the size of that task force as well, maintaining a team that is adequate to keep our closed campus clean and to prepare it for re-opening.

Once again, I wish to repeat that all of these modifications are temporary and a result of having a closed campus. Once the school has a date for re-opening our pre-existing staff will be the first to be offered new contracts to return to work with us, and we look forward to that day and truly hope that it is not a too distant moment.

Re-estructura interna

Estimados padres de familia y colegas:

Como todos sabemos, esperábamos que el campus de la escuela se abriera para clases regulares para el comienzo de este semestre, pero desafortunadamente, esto no fue permitido. Al día de hoy, todavía no tenemos una comunicación oficial sobre cuándo podremos abrir y así que nuestro DOLP lo continuaremos ofreciendo mientras el campus esté cerrado.

Esta situación que prevalece nos obliga a vigilar continuamente las finanzas de la escuela y en consecuencia hacer ajustes internos a nuestras operaciones. Ahora deseo compartir con ustedes la triste noticia de que hemos hecho más reducciones de personal como parte de esta reestructuración.

Hasta nuevo aviso, no podemos ofrecer entrenamiento deportivo, y las ligas y escuelas locales han acordado que hasta que abramos nuevamente, no habrá torneos o partidos entre escuelas. ASOMEX también ha cancelado todos los eventos deportivos presenciales para todo este año escolar. Bajo estas circunstancias, hemos tomado la decisión de reestructurar nuestro departamento de deportes JFK temporalmente, mientras la escuela permanezca cerrada. Esto ha llevado a la necesidad de reducir el número de entrenadores, quienes ya han sido avisados. El equipo restante, en tamaño reducido, trabajará ahora en crear programas en línea para la escuela. Estarán bien situados para reestructurar y reconstruir el Departamento de JFK Sports para que podamos volver a emplear a nuestros entrenadores en el momento adecuado cuando podamos reabrir la escuela y ofrecer deportes nuevamente.

También se ha llevado a cabo una revisión y reestructuración similar del Departamento de Servicios Generales, y hemos tomado la difícil decisión de reducir también el tamaño de ese equipo de trabajo, manteniendo un equipo suficiente para mantener limpio nuestro campus y prepararlo para su reapertura.

Una vez más, deseo reiterar que todas estas modificaciones son temporales y el resultado de tener un campus cerrado. Una vez que la escuela tenga una fecha para la reapertura, nuestro personal preexistente será el primero al que se le ofrecerán nuevos contratos para que vuelva a trabajar con nosotros, y estamos en espera de ese día y que realmente no sea una fecha demasiado lejana.

Mientras tanto, si alguien en la comunidad desea ofrecer trabajo a cualquiera de estos entrenadores o personal de limpieza, o si alguien sabe de otros que puedan querer emplearlos, estaremos encantados de ponerles en contacto.
