As of Saturday, June 18, CDC Director Rochelle P. Walensky, M.D., M.P.H., endorsed the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices’ (ACIP) recommendation that all children 6 months through 5 years of age should receive a COVID-19 vaccine. This expands eligibility for vaccination to nearly 20 million additional children and means that all Americans ages 6 months and older are now eligible for vaccination. More information can be found here.

As of Monday, June 13, NYC Mayor Eric Adams announced that masks are optional for 2-4 year old children in all early childhood settings. They still strongly recommend that New Yorkers of all ages continue to wear masks indoors and will continue to make masks available for any child or school staff member who wishes to continue wearing them. More information can be found here.

As of Sunday, June 12, the CDC announced that the Order requiring persons to show a negative COVID-19 test result or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 before boarding a flight to the United States is rescinded. Starting on June 12, 2022, air passengers do not need to get tested and show the COVID-19 test result or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 prior to boarding a flight to the U.S. More information can be found here.
