The Diplomacy Center Foundation (DCF), the philanthropic partner for the museum, is participating in the CFC for the first time. Federal appropriations provide NMAD’s operating budget, while private donations allow for programs and the development, fabrication, and installation of exhibitions. Read more.

Honoring America’s First Female Ambassador

Eugenie Anderson (1909-1997) was the first American woman to be an ambassador, serving in both Denmark and Bulgaria. New Artifact Acquisition from Kingston, Jamaica

NMAD curatorial staff worked with U.S. Embassy in Kingston, Jamaica to collect a sign from a recent Black Lives Matter protest that took place outside the embassy building. Read more.
Farewell to Associate Curator Katie Speckart

On July 30, the National Museum of American Diplomacy bid a bittersweet farewell to Associate Curator Katie Speckart. After sixteen years of devoted service to the museum and the U.S. Department of State, Katie made the decision to depart in order to pursue her lifelong dream of attending law school. Read more.
