CURRENT COMMUNITY MITIGATION LEVEL
SUBSTANTIAL TO SHELTER IN PLACE

The health, safety and welfare of our property owners, residents, employees, visitors and businesses are priority one for Hot Springs Village. We encourage social distancing or sheltering in place to prevent COVID19 from spreading in our community.

We also encourage supporting local businesses as can safely be achieved.  Several are offering delivery services, online services, gift certificates and other creative methods to serve their customers and we applaud their efforts.

We encourage you to visit our webpage  https://explorethevillage.com/members/hsv-covid-19/ that is being used to provide the latest updates, including closings and postponements

Hot Springs Village 50th Anniversary
Today is the 50th Anniversary of Hot Springs Village. When we entered 2020, we all had April 20 circled on our calendars as a day for community-wide celebration. We can't gather today, but we will celebrate with anniversary events later this year.

We have so much to be proud of, starting with the realization of a vision by John A. Cooper in 1970, from which more than 14,000 residents and other owners continue to benefit. May our pride in the community be stronger than ever as we begin crafting our next 50 years, together.

Saline & Garland Counties
During the same week that a positive case was first discovered in Arkansas, Saline Memorial Officials held a meeting with community leaders and first responders. Since that time SMH has hosted a weekly community leader update conference call to share information, answer questions and keep communication open between decision-makers.

Over the last couple of weeks they have shared that they have only treated a handful of positive COVID-19 patients and have not experienced a surge.  What they have experienced, though, is many people who would normally seek medical attention at the hospital not doing so because of COVID-19 exposure concerns.  In many of these cases the patient is waiting until they are in critical condition before choosing to seek help.

"We need to encourage people to seek medical attention if they have an emergency or other health problems," Saline County Judge Jeff Arey said. "Saline Memorial has put into place many procedures and protocols to keep patients and health care workers as safe as possible."

As of Monday, 44 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Saline County and 566 have tested negative. Of those testing positive, 23 have recovered. The total number of people who have died in Saline County remains at one.

In Garland County, 107 people have tested positive for COVID-19 and 1,436 have tested negative. Of the people infected, 57 have recovered. There have been no deaths resulting from Garland County cases.

The Garland County Library has canceled all of its June programs for ages 18 and younger.
