Each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, by celebrating the histories, cultures, and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. Many events were planned at Trinity in celebration of Hispanic Heritage. The month-long celebration kicked off on September 15th with a fiesta for the entire student body during the lunch period. The Latina Alumnae Association hosted a successful Loteria night for alumnae and friends. The Trinity community was invited to an assembly celebrating Hispanic culture with comedy, music, dancing. On the final day of the month-long celebration, Trinity’s Diversity in Action Club hosted a bake sale featuring; horchata, tamales, Jarritos, churros, conchas, cupcakes, and cookies. The group raised over $700 as well as an appreciation for these Hispanic delicacies.
