Dear Students and Families,

Greetings for a new day. We hope that you had a good night sleep and are ready for a new day of learning.

To begin our day today, I am pleased share this video from Mr. Hayward. While I think parents and older students will also benefit, he recorded this video with our younger students especially in mind. [And still the thumbnails defeat me. If any of you tech wizards out there know how to fix this, please let me know.]
Now Thank We All Our God
Our hymn for today is called Now Thank We All Our God , written by Martin Rinkart. In the video, Mr. Maurer tells the very interesting story of when and why it was written. We hope your family enjoys singing along with our faculty quartet led by Mr. Maurer and featuring Dr. Flora Armetta, Mr. Nathan Grim, and Ms. Anna Munson.
Now thank we all our God, with heart and hands and voices,
who wondrous things hath done, In whom His world rejoices;
Who, from our mothers' arms, Hath blessed us on our way
With countless gifts of love, And still is ours to day

O may this bounteous God Through all our life be us
With ever joyful hearts And blessed peace to cheer us
And keep us in His grace, And guide us when perplexed
And free us from all ills In this world and the next.

All praise and thanks to God The Father now be given,
The Son, and Him who reigns With them in highest heaven,
The one eternal God, Whom earth and heav'n adore
For thus it was, is now, And shall be evermore.

Non Nobis
Our Grammar School students normally sing our school song, Non Nobis during morning assembly each day. We invite you to sing along with our faculty quartet as you start your day.

Non nobis, Domine
non nobis, sed nomini tuo da gloriam

Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name be the glory.
– Psalm 115:1
Family Worship
In this morning's video I recommended Every Moment Holy by Douglas Mckelvey, published by Rabbit Room Press. This unique book contains over 100 thoughtfully written prayers for many moments of your life, from the mundane ("a liturgy for the washing of windows,") the overlooked ("for the changing a diapers") to the more momentous ("for those gathered on the eve of a wedding.") McKelvey divides the work into ten sections that include such categories as "Labor & Vocation," "Creation & Recreation," "Petition & Provision," "Sorrow & Lament," and "Table Blessing." It is a beautifully crafted hard cover fitting for special occasions and hardy enough for everyday use.

Some relevant ones for the season we are in include "a liturgy for those flooded by too much information," a liturgy for a sick day," and a liturgy for medical providers." Here is a sample liturgy for Students & Scholars that I read today.
Just for Parents
Finally, parents, as we are all working hard to figure out how to do school at home, I thought you might enjoy this hilarious parody from the Holderness Family . Because laughter, too, is a good medicine. [Warning – the name of the band who wrote the song they are parodying may raise questions from young onlookers].
Blessings,
Dr. Sonju
