Dear SMCS Families,

Happy New Year! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas break. Thank you for doing an awesome job communicating with Nurse Diaz about any questions/concerns related to COVID. We appreciate your cooperation and working with us so that we could return to school in person.

Nurse Diaz and I continue to monitor the number of COVID cases in the community. Safety of students and staff is our top priority and we will continue to focus on our safety protocols at school with mask wearing, handwashing, and social distancing. Please feel free to contact Nurse Diaz with any questions or concerns related to COVID.

Here is an informational flyer about COVID testing. We are very blessed to live in an area where free COVID testing is readily available.

This week's events at our nation's capitol show that we are a country in need of prayer and healing. Here are some resources about how to talk to your children about these events from the National Association of School Psychologists.

While we are all grateful to begin a new year and for all the hope and promise it brings with it, we certainly have some challenges ahead of us. Our community is strong, and we will successfully manage these challenges together. I look forward to the year ahead.

Thank you again for your continued support! Have a wonderful weekend!

Blessings,
Dr. Kathleen Cox
