WMS Launches COVID-19 Resource Webpage
|
|
When you need a resource, you need it quickly. WMS understands that and has created a repository of resources that is organized and designed to support your work in responding to COVID-19.
Visit our page for State Executive Orders, State Medical and Pharmacy Board Guidance, CDC updates, Telehealth support, legislative items relating to financial relief for practices, updated COVID-19 testing information, supply ordering procedures and so much more.
This site will be updated throughout the day each day that this pandemic persists. If there is a resource you find helpful that isn't already included on our site, send it our way so we can include it for everyone's benefit.

COVID-19 Testing & Supply
The State Public Health Lab (WPHL) is working to enhance testing capacity in Cheyenne. They have increased staff capacity, added additional equipment, and lengthened working hours to accommodate increased demand.
Get the facts on the
WMS COVID-19 resource page
about who should be tested, and detailed information about WPHL's response to COVID-19.
Testing resources and links to helpful information will be updated as often as possible.
|
|
Testing Quick Facts:
- WPHL does not supply collection supplies, nor has it ever but for rare exceptions.
- Given this unprecedented situation, if WPHL had access to testing collection supplies, they would absolutely distribute those. They do not have access to collection supplies for distribution at this time.
- Testing capacity at WPHL continues to increase and is far greater than 10 tests/day. They are averaging closer to 80-100 tests/day currently.
- There is not a current backlog at WPHL.
- The form, while lengthy, is important in order for WPHL to appropriately prioritize testing - please complete it thoroughly in order to ensure that the right people get tested quickly.

During these trying times, WMS is asking physicians to consider answering a future call to provide their time, energy, and skill to help Wyoming help our patients. COVID-19 is putting a tremendous strain on all physicians, especially those on the front lines, and the state is positioned to see unprecedented surge in patient care needs.
WMS is working with the State Board of Medicine to identify physicians who would be willing to help care for patients if the time came that our state might need you. Please consider submitting your name below to be added to a database of providers that we may need to call in if the situation worsens.
Wyoming is strong, our providers are strong, and sometimes strong means asking for help. Thank you for considering volunteering in this difficult time.

WMS Message to our Membership
|
|
COVID-19 is unprecedented and the public is turning to the leaders of the healthcare community to guide them through the uncertainty and fear of this situation with knowledge and experience. The whole world has been inundated with information about COVID-19, much of which is not based in fact. Please continue to help support the messaging from our state leadership regarding social distancing and respecting current restrictions. These messages resonate deeper when they come from the highly respected physician and healthcare community.
We will do our best to provide you with as much information as we deem to be helpful as you practice during COVID-19, but the messaging will only create an impact when you share it in your clinics with patients and staff, post and share it on your social media, etc. Please help WMS to be the place that our state can turn to for reliable information during this crisis.
We appreciate everything that you are doing for Wyoming.
Thank you!
