Online Only Growing Groceries 2019-2020 Classes

In-person MG gatherings are being replaced with virtual meetings whenever possible for the month of April.

King County Master Gardeners are providing online access to the remaining 2019-2020 Growing Groceries classes as originally planned on the Eastside at The Grange in Issaquah. The remaining classes in this series include four 2.5-hour educational classes offered from March 25 through May 2020.

The Beacon Hill classes for April have been cancelled. Those who have registered for the Beacon Hill classes may attend these online classes free of charge.

Use this registration only if you have not already registered for the March and April classes at The Grange in Issaquah or on Beacon Hill. Those who have already registered for in-person classes may attend these online classes free of charge. There is no need to re-register.

Instructions for joining the Zoom classes will be sent to you after you register, the week prior to the class. Information regarding registration for the May classes listed here will be sent at the end of April.

  • May 6: Cucumber & Corn Families
  • May 27: Herbs & Container Vegetable Gardening

All classes in this series are for beginning and intermediate gardeners, both Master Gardeners and the public, interested in vegetable gardening.

After covering soil preparation, garden design, and seed starting, the series will focus on the main food families, including alliums, brassicas, legumes and nightshades. Each session will encompass topics from the principles of vegetable gardening in our maritime climate to variety selection, cultural requirements, major diseases and pests, and pest management techniques.

Instructors will be King County Master Gardeners.
