In this FAA Speaker session you will learn about the Paid Internship Program (PIP). This program was developed for the purpose of increasing vocational skills and abilities of individuals with developmental disabilities who choose, through the Individual Program Plan process, to participate in an internship. Goals of this program include the acquisition of experience and skills for future paid employment or for the internship itself to lead to full or part-time paid employment in the same job.

Pablo Ibañez is the Community Services Director at Lanterman Regional Center. He has been dedicated to the field of developmental disabilities for over 17 years, first as a Service Coordinator working in the Adult Unit, then as a Program Manager for Children's Services and later as the Health Services Manager at Harbor Regional Center. Since June 2020 he has been with Lanterman Regional Center. He loves being of service, staying active, being in nature and spending time with this family and friends.
Carmen Jimenez-Wynn is the Employment Specialist at Lanterman Regional Center. She started her professional career in the field of developmental disabilities at Regional Center of the East Bay as the Intake and Assessment and Community Outreach Coordinator. She worked as an Early Intervention Case Manager and Transition/Adult Service Coordinator at Valley Mountain Regional Center. She has been with Lanterman close to nine years, first five years as a School Age Service Coordinator and in the last four years as the Employment Specialist.
