CCA's Emergency Notification System

We want to make certain that you are aware of the three different ways CCA communicates school cancellations, delays, and/or unexpected early dismissals due to storms, power outages, etc.:

(1) We will post an announcement on the landing page on our school website.
(2) We will post an announcement on Facebook and Instagram.
(3) We will use BrightArrow, an automated notification system, that will contact you directly via phone call, text message, and/or email. This third method is what we would use in case of any other type of school-wide emergency, like a “shelter in place".

If you did not receive a message via phone, text, or email this past Wednesday morning notifying you that school was closed due to the storm, please email Katie Newhall at knewhall@capecodacademy.org. She will ensure your correct contact information is updated in the BrightArrow system.
Share Your Thoughts on Parent-Teacher Conferences
We were glad that we were able to host parent-teacher conferences in person as planned this year. Please take a moment to complete a brief survey to let us know about your experience. Thank you!
STEM Pumpkin Races Will Be Held Next Week
Due to the storm this week, the Pumpkin Races have been moved to next week. Mr. Sears, CCA's STEM Curriculum Coordinator, invites all students in grades K - 12 to submit a pumpkin racer for this fun STEM event. There will be multiple prizes for different categories for each division, such as the fastest, scariest, Seahawk Pride, superhero, and best overall theme.

CAMPUS HIGHLIGHTS

Colleen Lotuff, Audrey’s mom, made a presentation to our fourth-graders on her family trips to Kenya. Her classroom visit complemented the students' humanities curriculum unit on Africa. Pictured here are Colleen and Audrey displaying items purchased from the Masai tribe in Kenya. The students learned so much. Thank you, Colleen!

Many students stopped by CCA on Thursday while their parents attended parent-teacher conferences. They rolled up their sleeves to help our maintenance crew clean up the Alumni Courtyard after Wednesday's storm. Thank you, CCA students!
PARENTS ASSOCIATION
Upcoming Parent Association Fundraisers
Smith Family Popcorn is again teaming up with Cape Cod Academy's Parent Association (PA) for another yummy fundraiser. Smith Family Popcorn offers a dozen flavors in a variety of sizes. You can order fresh delicious gourmet popcorn and support both a local business and our CCA community. Thirty percent of sales will go directly to the PA to help fund events, such as guest speakers, student activities, field day, and much, much more.

Order forms have been sent home with students today. Additional forms are available at the reception desk. We ask that all orders be in by Monday, November 8. Please make checks payable to Smith Family Popcorn. Completed orders may be dropped off at the reception desk. Orders will be ready to be picked up at school on November 16 and 17.
Save the Date: On November 17 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m., all families are invited to join us at Titcombs Bookshop in Sandwich for a holiday shopping event. Twenty percent of all sales will be donated back to Cape Cod Academy.
Location: Titcombs Bookshop, 432 MA-6A, East Sandwich, MA
