ACEC/Michigan CEO Roundtable
To Be Held Virtually on September 29

This year's ACEC/Michigan CEO Roundtable will be held virtually via Zoom on Tuesday, September 29, from 10-11:30 AM.

As firms navigate through unchartered waters dealing with a pandemic, many questions still exist. Did you accept a PPP loan? Have you opened your office? Will state/local budget shortfalls affect your work? Spend a little time with other firm principals at the ACEC/Michigan CEO Roundtable to discuss these and other business issues affecting engineering firms.

Have an issue you would like to discuss? You help develop the agenda for the session, so let us know what is on your mind. There is a space available on the registration page to submit your question or discussion topic.

The fee for this event is $30, and PEs will receive 1.5 continuing education credits.

Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) Launches New Online Platform for Professional Engineers
MiPLUS Launched August 25, 2020
The Bureau of Professional Licensing (BPL) within the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) is modernizing its licensing platform and processes to make it easier to obtain, renew, and modify licenses online. As part of a four-phase roll-out, in 2017, phase one introduced a new platform, MiPLUS, that was implemented for nearly 180,000 nurses' use. In 2019, MiPLUS was rolled out to an additional thirteen professions and over 250,000 licensees. This Summer, phase three will be implemented with this same system and rolled out to sixteen other professions - an estimated 107,000 additional individual professionals - including professional engineers.
What does this mean for your profession?  Click here for more details.

PSMJ Project Management Bootcamp Offered
January 2021
This ever popular course will be offered virtually beginning January 18, 2021.  Rather than an in-person event, training will take place over six two-hour sessions (11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.). Session dates: January 18, 19, 22, 25, 26 & 29.

Only PSMJ's A/E/C Project Management Bootcamp:

1. Turns each Project Manager and Principal into a profit center: The best PMs and Principals understand not only how to schedule and budget, but also how to wisely manage the business - ensuring each job's profitability. This Bootcamp gives you inside techniques of A/E/C firm business management as applied to each job.

2. Empowers Project Managers and Principals to ensure customer satisfaction: This training shows how to regularly monitor clients' happiness quotient, nurture good business relationships and report back to management at the first sign of something amiss.

3. Teaches Project Managers and Principals to enforce on-time, under-budget performance: The A/E/C Project Management Bootcamp teaches budgeting and scheduling discipline for the real world . . . plus how to hold all team members - including the client - responsible for staying on course.

4. Transforms Project Managers and Principals into new business generators: Few members of your team are better positioned to sell new business, especially upselling and cross-selling, than those managing existing projects. This training teaches you how to see - and seize- new business opportunities.

5. Helps Project Managers and Principals become business leaders: Today's PMs and Principals have the potential to become your firm's future leaders. This Bootcamp shows you how to visualize the big picture, then internalize and represent the firm's business goals to the outside world.

Registration will be available through acecmi.org soon.
