We are grateful for the support of United Way of Greater Atlanta for allowing us to bring ScreenAgers: The Next Chapter to our community. Nearly 100 families viewed the documentary which examines the science behind teen’s emotional challenges, the interplay of social media, and most importantly, what can be done in our schools and homes to help them build crucial skills to navigate stress, anxiety, and depression in our digital age. The MUFG Union Bank Foundation supports nonprofit organizations in the communities where the Bank has operations in: Arizona, California, Georgia, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Texas, and Washington. The Foundation awards grants to organizations that expand access to economic opportunity in low and moderate-income communities, specifically in the following areas of focus: Affordable Housing, Economic Development, and Stewardship and Sustainability. Kars4Kids is a national Jewish nonprofit organization that is dedicated to helping children develop into productive members of communities throughout the United States. The Kars4Kids Small Grant Program provides support to nonprofit organizations that are working to make a difference in education and youth development. The Home Depot Foundation's Veteran Housing Grants Program awards funding to nonprofit organizations throughout the United States and Puerto Rico for the new construction or rehabilitation of permanent supportive housing for veterans. Grants ranging from $100,000 to $500,000 are available for the physical construction or repair of housing for veterans (hard costs); the grant amount must comprise less than 50% of the total development cost of the project. Rural areas will be considered; however, high priority will be given to large metropolitan areas that have a dense veteran population. Nonprofit organizations that have been in existence at least five years and have a current operating budget of at least $300,000 are eligible to apply. Requests are reviewed three times per year. Youth Service America (YSA) and Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation's Youth Grants support youth leaders across the U.S. to turn their ideas into action and make an impact on the issue of childhood hunger. Support will be provided to youth-led community service or fundraising projects designed to address childhood hunger that engage at least 25 young people ages 5 to 25 as volunteers between March 1 and May 31. Preference will be given to projects that have some activity on Global Youth Service Day, April 23 – 25. Projects may take place in schools, colleges and universities, after-school programs, youth organizations, nonprofits, or faith-based organizations. Applicants may apply for a fundraising match grant, which includes $100 for fundraising-related costs and a $400 matching grant to a local hunger relief organization of the applicants’ choice. Applicants must live in the United States, and activities must benefit families and children in the United States. Visit the YSA website for more information.
The Fund for Teachers fellowship has individual and team fellowships that are awarded to pre-K – 12 classroom teachers to immerse themselves in their fields of study. Applicants are encouraged to focus on topics and issues most directly facing our nation at this time, including equity, diversity, inclusion, climate change, and civic engagement. Applicants must have a minimum of three years of experience and be full-time teachers spending at least 50% of their time in the classroom. The PeopleForBikes Community Grant Program offers funding for influential projects that build momentum for bicycling in communities across the United States. Grants are provided for bicycle infrastructure projects and targeted advocacy initiatives that make it easier and safer for people of all ages and abilities to ride. Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations with a focus on bicycling, active transportation, or community development; city or county agencies or departments; and state or federal agencies working locally. Letters of interest for the Spring 2021 grant cycle will be accepted through Jan. 22, and full applications are due April 9.
