Ronald Alvin Dock is a survivor. Born and raised in New York City. he was one of a group of triplets. Unfortunately, his two brothers succumbed to drug addictions at ages 19 and 40. But Ron has fought to overcome his own addiction, homelessness and incarceration to achieve a successful career with the New York Yankees. As someone who battled to turn his life around, he is emboldened to help others do the same. Today, after breaking the shackles of addiction, he uses his own experiences to share his passion – the gift of recovery.

With more than 29 years of personal recovery experience, Ron is a Certified Addiction Professional and Recovery Coach, who for the past 15years has served as an Intervention Coordinator for the New York Yankees. Trusted by high-profile athletes and entertainers, Ron specializes in one-on-one counseling, personal empowerment and finding the resources necessary to meet the individual needs of each client.

His vast life experiences help him relate with clients from all walks of life. In addition to battling addiction, homelessness and incarceration, he has experienced Vietnam as a marine, served as a State Correction Officer in Washington D.C and worked as a sanitation worker in New York City.
After three years of homelessness and complete separation from loved ones, Ron hit rock bottom and reached his turning point. Broken and spiritless, he sought help from a drug treatment center. His grim journey through the cycle of addiction, relapse and recovery fueled his desire to help others overcome addiction. His method includes a 12-step recovery program, spiritual awareness and a strenuous focus on tough love.

In addition to his professional work, Ron is recognized in the community as an advocate for youth in the fight against substance abuse and has facilitated work groups and individual counseling sessions for various treatment facilities. He aims to empower youth and help them understand the dangers of alcohol and drug abuse and the potential adverse effects on their lives.
Ron has been featured on 60 Minutes, ABC Turning Point, and ABC Eyewitness News. He's also referenced in publications such as Heat, High and Tight by Bob Klapisch, Details, Recovery, and The New York Times Magazine. His speaking engagements include, the University of Alabama, Florida State University, University of South Florida, and the Juvenile Welfare Board with topics such as “Youth and Substance,” “Athletes Playing Dirty” and “You Two Don’t Belong on the Field.”

In recovery for more than 26 my years, Ron now describes himself with a few simple words: loving husband, father, and grandfather. His family and co-workers think his cell phone ringtone best describes his plight, “just call on me brother, when you need a hand, we all need somebody to lean on me.
