Frozen
October 18

It is one of those standard, household, stand up water distributors....with the large water bottle sitting on top. We have had it for years and it is just one of those low maintenance conveniences that we use daily but seldom pay any more attention to it than that....until.... this week.... when the water would not come our of either of the spikets. I usually allocate these jobs to my husband, but I decided this time that I would try to be smart enough to handle it. So I unscrewed the spikets, removed the water, took apart the inside and found the inside to be completely frozen...literally. So I unplugged it...and waited overnight for the water to melt....and sure enough the problem was fixed....everything was replaced and we once again had a working machine.

We truck along in life taking for granted our daily activities and our daily abilities to carry on with whatever jobs and responsibilities we may have ...until one day circumstances that blind side us cause us to freeze. We go through the motions and do what we need to do....and we remain connected...but our everyday mentality and activity is interrupted. and we seem to freeze on the inside. It could brought on by a broken relationship, a broken heart, a change in security status, or maybe the loss of someone dear and precious to your life. Sometimes the changes have been building up for a while and hearts have gotten harder and harder....while other times we have just failed to pay attention to what is going on on our insides. God recognizes that we are getting ready to get stuck...but we tend to play it out til the last drop....not depending too much on God's help.

And we begin to wonder what is wrong....and what can I do to get out of this frozen state? It takes time to melt away fear, and sadness, anger and frustration and readjust ....and to do that we have to allow ourselves to be able melt away the grips of the past that continue to stymie our
daily need to be productive ....at least for a while....it seems to be nearly an impossible feat sometimes, BUT GOD, if we ask and trust him, will give us the strength, wisdom and courage as we allow time for our hearts to melt back into active mode.

There is nothing wrong...it is just having to make serious mindset adjustments about what has been and trust in God's provisions as to what lies ahead. But sometimes we have to undo the spigot inside to see what is going on and be honest with what is causing the heart and mind to freeze up ....and then ask God to help us melt away the anxiety, and unclog our thoughts, and get us to once again be in working order.

When something comes barreling in our lives that is unexpected....it does take time to make adjustments. Some are better at change than others...but God has the wisdom and the concern to help us through whatever he has allowed to land in our life.

But we must remember that adjustments take time and it is ok to unplug and wait for a while for things to settle down. No Hurry! God will guide us...no matter what condition we are in....but sometimes for God to be able to actively help us seek restoration...we have to unplug from all the worldly distractions and listen for HIS word of encouragement and comfort.....through reading the scriptures, listening to Christian based truth, and trusting that God is with us as he melts our frozen hearts back into working order.

Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.

The time to plug in will come again....but for now let the love of God melt your heart. Wait on him...and he will surely show you his blessings...and let you know when the time to get up and go is upon you..

Dear Lord, There are times when we are frozen due to the changes that we are thrown in life. Help us to be able to honestly open our hearts and minds and seek your will and your comfort and your wisdom.....so that we can live for your glory. Amen

Praise God wherever you are and whatever situation He has allowed you to be in . . . His glory will shine through!
