Campus Communications Amid COVID-19 Response
Fullerton College is actively retooling all aspects of college operations in response to the much-needed social distancing measures that are required to minimize the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Fullerton College staff, faculty and administrators want nothing more than to support our Hornets, but it does take time to reformat our processes into virtual formats. The President's Weekly will act as a summary of these changes and regular updates are also available on the college's
COVID-19 website.

A Note from President Schulz to Students
Dear Students,
First, I hope that each of you is safe. My thoughts have been with you over the past several days. I hope that you have access to the things that you need. I miss the times when we see each other on the quad, in the library and all across our beautiful campus. Until we have that opportunity again, I ask you to be patient and keep trying your best this semester. The faculty and staff of Fullerton College will do everything we can to support you along the way.

Study Abroad Students, Faculty Return Home Safely
All thirty-two students and two faculty members have safely returned from London after having to cut their spring Study Abroad Program short. In addition to ending the current program early, the summer program in Kyoto, Japan and fall session in Rome, Italy have been cancelled.

CCCAA Cancels Remainder of Spring Sports
The California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Board of Directors voted unanimously on Thursday that the remainder of the 2020 spring sports season will be canceled, the spring season of competition for approximately 9,500 student-athletes will be restored and face-to-face recruiting and recruiting-related travel is being prohibited immediately but will be re-evaluated next month.

Status of Spring Courses as of March 20
Fullerton College has compiled a list of changes to all spring 2020 courses with an up-to-date status of course instruction as of March 20. Students can check on the status of their courses transitioning from in-person to remote instruction or other.

Distance Education Offers Support
There are many resources to help students transition to remote learning. Take the training course "Become an Effective Remote Learner" and learn to organize your space, course materials and yourself, tips and tricks for time management, the importance of setting up a schedule that works for you, communicate effectively online and more.

Resource Finder Created for Students

Food Bank Services Offered at Hub of Hope
The Fullerton College Food Bank is currently closed along with the rest of the college. However, students may receive the same services at the HUB of Hope by Pathways of Hope at Richman Park in Fullerton.

NOCCCD Employee Update on COVID-19 and Operations
North Orange County Community College District Chancellor Cheryl Marshall sent a memo to all district employees on March 19, with many details regarding the operations of Fullerton College, Cypress College, NOCE and the district offices.

Setting Up Instructional Continuity
Instructional continuity refers to the effort to continue course work during disruptions due to weather, illness, or other factors. Strategies for maintaining instructional continuity include making plans for communicating with students, considering adjustments to assignments, implementing online audio and video collaboration, lecture capture, or discussion boards. Remote Work Resources
For remote work resources, please go to
https://remote.fullcoll.edu for the most up-to-date information. Relevant information includes setting up a VPN, using video conferencing and remote desktop access, accessing Office 365 to collaborate and more. During this time please do not contact the ACT team directly, for support setting up VPN and other remote working technology send in a service request.

Submit a COVID-19 Update
Fullerton College departments and programs are encouraged to submit updates from their areas that will help students access support services; transition to online learning, and other temporary programmatic changes at the college. Submissions may appear as single items on the COVID-19 Updates blog and/or appear in the President's Weekly.
