REV. FLORENCE CAPLOW & REV. SALLY FRITSCHE
"What does it mean to be a people of commitment?" is our Soul Matters theme for March. Come hear a "sermon in dialogue" as our two ministers reflect on commitment and what sometimes can scare us or block us from commitments we may long to make - and especially. How might we commit anyway, even if we are afraid?
This is also "Pledge Sunday" and the end of our Generosity Campaign - join us for the Pledge Party at 12:00!

2021-2022 PLEDGE CAMPAIGN FINISHES ON MARCH 7!
This Sunday, we'll be celebrating the culmination of a successful generosity campaign, and you're invited! Everyone who has made their pledge for the coming year can stop by the South parking lot after church for cookies, conversation, and a thank-you gift from our big bag of UU prizes. If you're waiting to pledge, this is your chance to turn in your form in person! Both ministers will be there to personally thank you and celebrate the generosity and commitment that keeps this community going.

Recent scientific work has identified “awe” as a powerful force for good in our lives. Can awe be cultivated? What do religions say about awe? Where have YOU found awe in your life? Rev. Caplow would love to hear your stories or see photos that express awe for you – send to minister@uucuc.org.

Please consider donating to the Little Free Pantries run by Julie Laut and AJ Herzog, which they have kept active daily since late spring. In order to address increased and unique needs this winter, they have created an Amazon wish list. All items will be delivered to Julie's house and shared between the two pantries. Donations of all items will continue to be accepted as usual at both locations, if you want to bring them in person.
Thank you for your support and generosity ~ Julie and AJ

From Frank Knowles: On January 31 of this year, at age 85, my sister, Bobbie, died as a result of a fall in her home. During her last years, she suffered from dementia, and her long-time partner, Joy, was the best caretaker that Bobbie could have had. Patricia and I owe Joy a lot. When it is safe to travel, we will fly to Florida to see Joy and scatter Bobbie’s ashes where she wanted them to be. Bobbie was an outstanding athlete, coach, and physical education instructor over a career of almost 40 years. She played 2nd base for a world class fast pitch softball team sponsored by R. H. Hall of St. Petersburg, FL. She coached a slow-pitch team at Palm Beach Community College (Now, Palm Beach State College) that won the state championship without dropping a game, a feat not before accomplished by any softball team. She was interviewed for the Old Lesbian Oral Herstory Project in 2008. Those project materials are now archived in the Sophia Smith Woman’s History Archives at Smith College in Northampton, MA.
I would like to say more than can be fitted to a virtual 3X5 card, so I will stop. I plan to send an email about Bobbie to the Choir, my well-worn path to the larger church.
From Karla Peterson: Thank you, young people. With this younger generation soon to be in charge, our world will be better.
From Ellen Jacobsen: Celebrations of the lives of three wonderful human beings who died in the last 2 weeks - 2 from cancer and 1 from COVID. And a 100th birthday of a wonderful friend in Ireland who did a beautiful and flawless rendition of “Oh Danny Boy" on his harmonica.
From The Pitcel Family: A sorrow for two members of our TaeKwonDo dojo who experienced the passing of a brother and a father. Joy for warmer weather and that Spring is getting ready...to spring.
Please send your joys or sorrows to joysandsorrows@uucuc.org any time before the Joys and Sorrows portion of the service. They will be read aloud.
