SJM campus will be Under Construction during the Summer of 2022!
UPDATE: Since Monday, June 6th the front entrance to San Joaquin Memorial High School on Fresno Street has been closed for construction to take place on the new front entrance and foyer. There is signage to direct you to the north side of the administration building so you can access the building through the side door. This will most likely be the entrance to the school offices for the entire summer.

Also, beginning on June 13th the President's Office, Advancement, Finance, Tuition, Admissions and Technology offices were relocated to the Campos Center on the north side of the campus. The best way to access the Campos Center is to park in the north (senior) parking lot and enter the campus through the gate.
All individual phone numbers and email addresses will remain the same for all employees.

We also began with our summer hours on Monday June 6th. The school offices will be open from 9 am - 1 pm, Monday through Thursday and closed on Fridays. Summer hours will be in effect until August 1st.
Advice for Memorial Students for the 2022-2023 School Year
Summer vacation is here! When our students went through finals week it was a nostalgic time of the year for many. Whether you're excited for next school year, or reminiscing on the year that has ended, join SJM juniors, sophomores and freshmen in giving advice to next years' Memorial students!
SJM Alumni and Current Students Serve at the Helping One Woman Dinner, Honoring Monica Lucido Baker!
Our SJM Alumni and current students have a big heart for service. Some SJM Alumni and current students served at the Helping One Woman Dinner, honoring Monica Lucido Baker that was held on May 17, 2022.

These past and present students showed up in a big way, some even in the midst of their finals, and they worked hard! They helped sell raffle tickets, served dinners, cleared tables and carried purchased items out to cars for people. We are proud of all of them for having a heart for service even after graduating from Memorial.

THANK YOU to everyone who participated in the 2022 Spring Fling Drawing to Support the Fund for San Joaquin Memorial!
Panthers we did it! You've shown us that we are stronger together and we loved seeing all your support for Memorial.

Congratulations to Natalie Diaz for being the winner of the $5000 Cash Prize! Thank you everyone who supported Memorial in the 2022 Spring Fling Drawing!

All gifts to the Fund for San Joaquin Memorial have an enormous impact on Memorial’s ability to enhance its standards of excellence in teaching, scholarships, student development and facilities. Your annual gifts fuel the success of this school and touch every aspect of our students’ experience.

Specifically, your gift to The Fund for San Joaquin Memorial will:

Provide tuition assistance and scholarships to deserving students – making an education at San Joaquin Memorial possible for more young men and women.

Contribute to the cutting-edge technology, lab equipment and other state-of-the-art learning tools used in the classroom.

Instill in students a deep awareness of God’s presence in their lives through a dynamic Campus Ministry program.

Give students an extraordinary and enriching experience that they will treasure for a lifetime.

We raised $44,210 and exceeded our GOAL of raising $40K!
SJM Students Lifted Spirits at Valley Children's Hospital
Photo from Valley Children's Hospital Instagram
Arden Parnagian and Gemma Wood, two SJM students, recently led a special service project. This summer vacation they already delivered a thoughtful donation to adolescent patients at Valley Children's Hospital. Special "comfort clutches" or toiletry bags were delivered to the teenage patients. Inside the bags were socks, gift cards and other items to help provide comfort during their stay at the hospital. Way to go Panthers!

Gary Giannoni is Named the new Memorial Girl's Golf Coach
Gary Giannoni will be the new Girl's Golf coach. He was the head Golf coach at Clovis East High School for 15 years (1999-2014). In 2007 he won the Valley Team Championship. He later coached 2 golfers during their high school careers who became professional golfers: Derek Ernst and Bryson Dechambeau. He was also a Defensive Backs coach for CE and won a Valley Championship in 2003. In addition, he's received the following notable honors in his sports career:

  • 4 time all-league in football at the University of Redlands (1991-1994)
  • Most Valuable Player (1994)
  • Football Gazette: All-American D3 (1994)
  • DB coach at Whittier College(1995)
  • 15 years: Head Coach Golf, Clovis East High School
  • 5 years: Defensive Back Coach, Clovis East High School
  • 20 years: CIF/Junior College Basketball Official, San Joaquin Valley Officials Association

Mr. Giannoni is looking forward to to the various challenges of creating interest in the Girl's Golf program here at SJM. Winning is secondary at this point to him. He wants to evaluate each golfer and see where their strengths and weaknesses are and then improve each of them gradually and have them develop a love for the game. He wants to create life-long interest for them in golf, not just as something they put on their college resumes'.

His top advice for future Panthers interested in Golf is that if you've been playing for years or if you just started thinking about playing golf, come and try out! There is always an element of fun involved and he wants student/athletes who can balance their responsibilities between school and sports.

He understands that sports are always an outlet for students to show a different side to who they are. Sports provide opportunities to relieve stress and tension that can build up when students are only occupied with academic motivation. Finding the balance between both allows them to prioritize their goals and organize their lives. They are students FIRST, but if they commit to playing a sport, they have to realize that it is secondary to their academic needs.

Mr. Giannoni we wish you the best in this new and exciting chapter as the new Memorial Girl's Golf Coach! Go Panthers!

Please continue to visit Fresno Catholic to learn more about the Fresno Catholic School system. On Thursday May 12, 2022 Bishop Joseph V. Friendly Reminder for Friends and Family of San Joaquin Memorial High School
San Joaquin Memorial High School has experienced a high demand for freshmen enrollment at this time. If you are interested in your child attending Memorial for the first time in the 2022-2023 school year please submit your completed application as soon as possible. At this time there are only 3 seats available for next school year for the incoming Freshman class.

Memorial wants to make sure that our partner schools are given first priority for registering their soon to be freshmen students. If students from our partner schools want to be at Memorial for the 2022-2023 school year as a freshman we want to remind you to complete your enrollment application as soon as possible if you have not done so already.

This is your last opportunity to submit your enrollment to San Joaquin Memorial High School as a freshman for the 2022-2023 school year. We are confident that these seats will be filled soon and once these 3 seats are filled with prospective students we will open a waiting list.

For more information on the application process please contact SJM's Admissions Director Bianca Blanchette at (559) 268-9251 ext. 139 or [email protected]

We look forward to welcoming your child as one of our SJM Class of 2026 students next year!
