Individual Application is Due February 14 th !
Town of Wellston Administrator, John Cobb, will be one of twenty-six members set to graduate from the Community Leadership Development Class 8 this Friday in Enid. John recently commented on his experience over the past year, here is what he had to say:

"I am honored to say that on February 14th I graduate from the Community Leadership Development Class 8. I have made amazing connections over the past year and have gained valuable knowledge that has enhanced my ability to serve my community. If you are looking to enhance your leadership ability and knowledge in public service this class is a must attend."
OML’s Community Leadership Development (CLD) program is currently accepting applications for both class members and host cities for the upcoming Class 9. The deadline for the 2020 class applications is February 14, 2020.

At each class meeting, presenters will focus on equipping the class members with the skills and information needed to make a positive impact on your community. According to Cheryl Adams, OML Program Manager, the class members not only learn valuable leadership skills, but will have a lot of fun and experience different communities throughout the year.

Safe Cities/Safe Towns Workshop Featured Speaker
Mark Woodward, Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics
 
The upcoming Safe Cities/Safe Towns Workshop will feature many important and relevant subjects during the day. However, one of the most important subjects will be Current Drug Trends. This topic will be presented by Mark Woodward, the Public Information/Education Officer/Legislative Liaison official representing the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics (OBN).

Woodward, who has been on staff of the OBN for twenty-five years will focus his comments on the current drug trends found in the workplace, schools and at home. Information will include how to recognize drug use in these areas as well as information on the new types of technology being used that increases the addictiveness of many drugs that are prevalent in society today.

Please make plans now to participate in this very important workshop.
OML Dinner Night Out - Oklahoma City

The staff will be on hand to facilitate the dinners and fill you in on the latest news out of OML, including information regarding the upcoming legislative session.

The NOI teaches the statutorily required topics such as Municipal Budget Requirements, the Oklahoma Open Meeting Act, the Oklahoma Open Records Act, Ethics, Procedures for Conducting Meetings, Conflict of Interest, and Purchasing Procedures.

State law requires each person elected or appointed for the first time as an officer of a municipality to attend an institute for municipal officials. 

Remember, you don't have to be new to attend. Everyone is welcome!
