Dear Families of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School,

This past week, Father Jesse celebrated our school Mass. His message was so beautiful and simple that I thought it worth sharing for those who were not able to attend. In the Gospel reading from Luke 12, we are warned to “Be prepared, for at an hour you do not expect, the Son of Man will come.” Father Jesse took this message a step further reminding us that God is seeking us and we have to find Him everywhere. In the special way he has of relating messages to children, Father Jesse likened this to a game of “hide-and-seek” in which God always wants us to find Him and we can --- as long as we seek Him everywhere: in our families, our teachers, our classmates, etc. This simple sentiment was a good one for all ages: God is everywhere! And He wants us to seek Him…and find Him!

Only by His Grace,

Veronica Tucker
Principal
ALL-SCHOOL NEWS
THURSDAY OCT. 28 & FRIDAY, OCT. 29 DISMISSAL CHANGES
There are two funerals at the church on 10/28 & 10/29 that may cause disruption to our normal car line/dismissal. Out of respect for the families and due to parking constraints, we will do a “severe weather dismissal” on both days.
  • Parents should park in any available spot (front or back) and come into the school for pick-up.
  • Pre-K3 – 3rd grade students will be picked up from their classrooms.
  • 4th – 8th grade students will be picked up from the gym.
  • Friday, Oct. 29th is a 12 PM (Noon) Dismissal.
Please share this information with anyone picking up your children on Thursday and Friday next week and thank you for your understanding.

AFTERNOON PICK-UP REMINDER
Just a reminder that our school day ends at 3:30 pm. The afternoon carline typically is complete between 3:45 and 3:50 each day. Students not picked up by the time carline ends will be sent to our Beyond the Bell Program. Students will need to be picked up and signed out from Beyond the Bell in the Fellowship Hall. FACTS accounts will be charged the $14 daily fee for Beyond the Bell. If there is a second instance, the $14 daily fee will be charged in addition to the $50 registration fee (unless the student is already enrolled.) Thank you for making every effort to pick up your student on time.
LOST & FOUND
The Lost & Found table is overflowing! Please remind your students to check the table for missing items. Parents are welcome to come in the check for items during school hours. Anything not claimed before Thanksgiving will be tossed or donated.
OCTOBER FAMILY ROSARY
The month of October is dedicated to the Rosary, and after the Mass, the Rosary is the most powerful prayer at our disposal. St. John Paul II often said that the Rosary is a prayer of peace, and he encouraged families to pray the Rosary together. Please sign up for a day that your family will pray the Rosary together.
Grab your cowboy boots, bring your partner, and join us for dancing and fun at the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School Mother-Son Dance! There is no cost to attend and light refreshments will be served. Due to space constraints, this event is for enrolled students and mothers only. See you tomorrow night!!
