The times may be unprecedented, but Valley Humane Society's compassion for the animals and people of our community is well established. We've had to change a thing or two about how we operate, but the work to save lives and to connect people and pets in ways that enrich all continues unabated.
As one of the first area shelters to pioneer safe adoptions by appointment, we have found homes for 3 dozen dogs and cats in the past month and rescued more than 40 others. Children are enjoying Paws to Read and Humane Education lessons through our YouTube and Facebook pages, and we launched "A Moment of Comfort" pet therapy videos to help everyone alleviate the stress and isolation of shelter-in-place.
We hope you are well. We hope being at home with your pets and your family brings you a measure of joy. We hope you will reach out if you need us. Because while our doors may be closed, our eyes and ears and hearts remain wide open.
