August takes us into the heart of Summer. Everyone doing ok? There are opportunities for breakfast, lunch and socializing in person or on Zoom this month with details below as usual. Don’t forget to stay cool (including popping into the library to enjoy the air conditioning and some exquisite artwork by a local artist). ‘Till September!

Ross Valley Seniors
August 4, 11-2pm
Come join the Ross Valley Seniors on August 4th at the Fairfax Women’s Club for BBQ and Team Trivia! Bocce ball and our social hour starts at 11:00am with the BBQ at 12:00pm. Shortly after the BBQ we will hear updates on San Anselmo and Fairfax from the respective town managers, David Donery and Heather Abrams, followed by a team trivia game for awesome prizes!

Community Seed Exchange Is In Full Bloom!
Fairfax Library is home to the MCFL Community Seed Exchange - many varieties of seeds are available for everyone. You are welcome to donate non-GMO seeds, and you are welcome to take some seeds and grow, grow, grow! The Community Seed Exchange is a free seed bank that supports our community with pesticide-free, non-GMO seeds, fosters resilience, self-reliance and a culture of sharing. The Exchange is supported by donations. We accept unopened or partially used commercial seed packets that are non-GMO, and collected seeds from non-hybrid plants. Stop by the Fairfax Library anytime during open hours to use this awesome community resource. FREE
Art Exhibit by artist Wawi Amasha: "Mindful Living" This art series and exhibit by local Fairfax artist Wawi Amasha is a dynamic and colorful representation of life in various parts of Africa. It portrays lively landscapes and people with intricate textures and patterns. Art Exhibit will be in the Fairfax Library Community Room through August 31st.

Climate Cafe: a Compassionate Sharing Circle: August 6th, 11am-12:30pm. This is an in-person, drop-in sharing circle at the Fairfax Library for people who are feeling concerned about the climate crisis and its impact at the global, local, or personal level. Masks are worn, we meet in the Fairfax Library Community Room.
Avoid Scams, Fraud and Identity Theft: An Online Presentation for Older Adults: August 17th, 1-2pm. Members of Marin County’s Financial Abuse Specialist Team (FAST) will provide information for older adults on how to avoid financial abuse and protect themselves against common financial scams in an online presentation via Zoom.
